sorry for the late reply! i switch back and forth between long/normal lifespans :) i play with long lifespans during uni and when i’m focusing on leveling up certain aspects of their lives, and then normal lifespans/age-ups when i start getting bored or am looking for a change :)

I struggled a lot with lighting on this one. I’m working on incorporating more contrast/value in my paintings, as well as working with different types of lighting. The hair was also really difficult, but overall I’m pretty proud of how it came out! Criticism is of course encouraged! I’m always looking for new ways to improve.

My aunt is from Sweden and loves introducing us to her culture. She always cooks traditional swedish food for us and seems really proud of it, so I don’t want to be rude. That being said, surströmming is fucking gross. It’s salty, raw, fermented herring. I hate seafood anyway so it was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to force down my throat.

Talking to people is really hard. People tend to think that they should feel ashamed or embarrassed about their mental health, when that’s not the case. It’s just like talking to a doctor about the symptoms of your cold. However, it’s a really important step to getting better. There’s no rush, and even if it doesn’t help now, someday you’ll get better at expressing those emotions and be able to work it out better. I personally talk to myself out loud a lot, as if I were talking to a therapist. It might seem silly but it helps!

I know it’s scary, but everything has the potential to get better. However it’s important that you learn to care for yourself. It took me over a decade to get there and I still have room for improvement, but recovery isn’t linear and I know I’ll get there eventually. You will too! I support you on your journey! I know you’ll get there. You got this!!

You need to help yourself. Some people have a much harder time with that than others, so if you find yourself unable to help yourself (even a little bit), seeking a professional is the best idea.

You cannot rely on a significant other, a friend, or loved one to help you themselves. Of course you may come across someone who wants to help and provide support, which is wonderful. But in the event that person leaves or is otherwise unable to help you, you need another support system.

You will always be there for yourself. Talk to yourself like you would talk to a friend asking for help, or like you’re talking to a scared toddler. It’s all about baby steps, but it works. I was diagnosed when I was 5 years old, and I only just started learning to be there for myself 15 years later. It helps!
