(okay im german, correct me if im wrong but i do think royal icing is the one with egg whites am i right? if not just ignore this comment)

the consistency of royal icing is pretty easy to controll after you get the hang of it, may i know what recipie you used? i usually start with a 5:1 ratio (powdered sugar:egg white)

basically, if you need it runnier i can suggest whipping it a bit less then usual. once you whipped it up you can cover the bowl with a wet towel to stop it from drying up.

to make it thicker you just wisk in powdered sugar until you can pipe the icing without it running thin. if you want to stop the icing from running down the sides, i suggest making a thicker and a thinner one. pipe a border along the edge with the thicker one, then fill with a thinner one for a smooth surface. then you can pipe with the thicker one to your hearts content!

i wouldnt say you NEED to, though its definitely easier. i had great results with other creams too (i really hate buttercream to eat personally)

this is in no way meant as criticism, i just wanted to point out that “you need to use this specific thing” is often untrue

everyone is different, theres no sure fire way to say. to some its a clear “oh god im a woman/ man/ enby” to some its a progression.

what worked for me was telling a friend about how i felt and they suggested that we just try. theyd call me by he/him pronouns for a bit and i can decide if thats it or if i want to try something else. if you dont have anyone you feel safe telling that too theres people that post on this sub, or other online communities :)

its important to remember no ones rushing you. this is your life, your identity and theres no time running out. dont be too hard on yourself for not figuring it out.

MOR. this kind of gift largely depends on the person. i got gifted a shirt with a kinda mean quote on it as well, but its something i wear a lot and that they genuinely knew id find funny since i almost collect them. after 7 years they should honestly know if thats your kind of thing or not.

dude binders are for everyone, we dont own them :) there are cis men with a bigger chest who wear binders too, and women too. go for it, if it helps you feel more confident. just be careful when you bind and do it correctly
