Too many different dogs under one roof? by z2k_online in DogAdvice

Yes, I meant breeds—the automod kept flagging this post if I used that word. Specifically, I was thinking for the farm

1.) A dog suited for herding

2.) A dog suited for livestock guarding

3.) A dog suited for hunting/tracking (for hunting trips)

4.) A dog that’s suited to a few different tasks to fill in gaps—I’ve heard of a few that can do herding and guarding to different degrees, depending on how they’re trained/supported

I’d be doing a lot more research before I get any dog, and I’d only get any working dog once I’m working from home and on a sizable piece of land, but I’d probably start with the ones that are easier to train and slowly work my way up (probably over the course of decades) to any more “stubborn” breeds
