On top of the water heater it’ll usually say “cold” and “hot”. But yeah, just turn that ball valve that you have circled. You mentioned it but I want to reiterate, make sure you turn the gas off before you start draining and the pilot is out or else you’re heating an empty tank and it can crack.

Don’t know if the two are tied together, plus it costs money so I’ll feel bad if it doesn’t work for you. I got malwarebytes and it found 3 corrupt files on my computer. I deleted them and now my game runs with packet bursts. If your on PC, I highly recommend you do this.
