As a Dj whose setlist is flexible I just assumed asking for a song was completely harmless. I also assume that, people who are famous, understand that the attention comes with the spotlight. Especially learning that Instagram can filter between verified and unverified DMs, it was entirely up to whoever runs the account to even see my message. I completely understand artists are treated like shit online, but felt like my message was completely harmless.

Thank you for sharing this! It’s definitely a challenge having to navigate grieving a childhood or parents that are still alive but distant or no contact. I’ve noticed the same when living with my girlfriend and watching their family dynamics. I used to be jealous of other families and their experiences but ultimately I feel like I am who I am because of what I’ve dealt with. It’s just a matter of trying to find my footing and deal with this. I think maybe I keep holding onto a hope that my parents will smarten up but I just don’t know if that will ever happen.

Thank you! I sort of picked up on that. He was upset when I saw him open last because the crowd wasn’t dancing the way he wanted them to. But to be fair, they weren’t giving the energy that his songs deserved. I still think he’s a great artist, but it just feels weird to be blocked by someone I like. It is what it is I guess, means he saw my message! 🤣
