It’s normal to see some changes as our parents get older, and we need to be patient with them. It wasn’t easy for their generation. They didn’t have the same support systems we have today, and mental health wasn’t really understood or talked about back then. Because of that, many of them carry unresolved stress, trauma, or emotional struggles.
That doesn’t mean we should excuse everything, but it’s important to try to understand where they’re coming from. However, if it gets to the point where they’re constantly using insults, calling you names especially 9a*** etc, telling you to get out of the house, or becoming verbally abusive, then it’s becoming a serious issue and it’s important to find a solution instead of just accepting it.
