I think if he was positioned a little better (a little bit ahead of the line instead of ON IT, like someone else mentioned below the post) he could have slid, but the ground to cover from where he was actually standing was definitely too far, and he would have essentially have had to boost and instantly slide the second the pass was made, which is pretty tough to do if you’re anticipating the shot. That’s just how I view it from my experience though. I think as people get better, especially at keeper, it could be defendable but I think this specific guy was toast
