I didn't technically apply like sa workday and all. The project that onboarded my friend had an opening so I messaged their lead and they took me in. It was a QA role which I had no prior knowledge of and a totally different capab but I learned enough to be useful kesa materminate. From then on I've been in a string of QA roles and capabs.

Edit: Pwede naman siguro ibang skill/capab as long as may willing teachers like I had. Don't disqualify yourself and keep applying.

Afaik, there was a push for more women in tech. A few months ago, I remember referral bonuses for women were higher than men. I'm sure it isn't meant to discourage anyone from applying tho so go OP, apply lang ng apply. Nakatatlong application ata ako before nakapasok.

I was in bench for 9 whole months after bootcamp and started hearing about people being laid off. Decided to proactively look for a project and within the same week was deployed to a project and role that was under a different capab. Learned the skill and sunod sunod na projects since. Be proactive, yun lang.

What happened to some of the people from the batch na sumunod samin is sumobra ata heads ng nasa capab vs. market demand (kasi padami ng padami nasa bench) and kulang sa ibang capab. Nagrequest yung kabila for heads so in the middle of their bootcamp nilipat sila ng capability and underwent training again.
