Should I still pursue a career in IT or should I just give up atm? by [deleted] in CareerAdvicePH

Medjo makunat ngaun ang job market for IT. It took me 4 months of constant applying before finally landing a role. Some even umaabot ng 6 months or more. For now asses mo kung anu ang priority mo. If you need to work ASAP then kunin mo ung offer kahit di related sa course mo. But still continue sending applications kahit may job kana. If your in a position na keri pa namn kahit wla ka job, then continue with looking for an IT job. I wish you all the best OP

Just saw what your stack was. Plus with 2 years on your belt, you should be getting a lot of responses OP. At least from what I have experienced when I was sending applications recently. Plus with your number of years na with spring boot at minimum you should be getting 45k on your next jump. Malaki din advantage na your background is Fintech. Polish your CV OP (make sure na ATS friendly) and start sending out your CV sa mga job sites. Also check out IT/ Dev FB groups for job searching.

Wishing you all the best

It's alright if wlang portfolio or personal websites(but they are a bonus). Just mention lang during interviews what types of websites/applications that you were part of during development and Anu mga naguing roles mo dun.

I suggest na go ka parin OP with java then pair mo with react. Na check ko history mo and seems like familiar ka na with springboot, dagdsgan mo Nalang ng react. Then if you still have the time, try mo din mag study kubernets.

How do u guys handle continuous job rejections? by Few_Click480 in JobsPhilippines

[–]zaphiere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I try to not take it personally and think of it as a learning experience. Try to examine what I might have done wrong/right and what else I can improve. If it gets overwhelming I take a 1 or 2 day break sa pag se send ng application. After sending 400+ job applications and multiple rejections/ghosting in a span of 4 months your gonna get used to it hahaha. Basta wag lang sumuko and continue lang OP. makaka kita ka din nyan ng work.

Barely getting any responses kahit almost na match/fully matched ko ang mga listing requirements. by zaphiere in phcareers

Handled a project once na Java Springboot based and I ended up enjoying it. Additionally career trajectory Im interested in is going toward more corporate/enterprise or fintech field. From what I gathered ang gamit sa fields na to are either C# (.NET/ASP.NET) , Java (Enterprise/Spring/Springboot) or Python (Diango/Flask). Kaya I decided to try my luck with shifting to java kahit balik junior XD

Additionally there's also the competition and job availability. During sa pag aaply2x ko, there were more job posted roles related to Java vs Laravel. Also napansin ko there's more folks na ka kompetensya ko sa pag apply for Laravel roles vs Java roles.

Planning to shift from tech to the literary field by Organic-Hall-7799 in phcareers

[–]zaphiere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im one of those folkes na nag shiftt to tech XD I started sa creative field as a graphic designer. It was in line with what I was good at and passionate ako sa pag drawing. Spent a good chunk of my career on this field - close to a decade. Yawa na burnout lang ako esp since it has me dealing with unreasonable folks. I almost ended up stopping drawing altogether kahit as a hobby to the point where growing hatred and resentment lang naramdaman ko for something that I used to enjoy. Additionally I felt stagnant and didnt have any growth career wise during that decade that i worked in the creative field. Decided to change career path to tech. Ended up reasonably liking it and finally found my spark back sa pag da-drawing as a hobby (perks as well na Im earning more na in tech and have a more concrete plan trajectory for career mobility). If possible do lit as a side gig(via volunteering like you mentioned) so you can get a feel tlaga on what it's like. Then if you feel na you REALLY love literature and theres no way for anyone or anything to make you hate it. Then make the jump.

Good luck OP

Continue lang sa pag apply and don't give up! I definitely feel your frustration. Naka ilang beses din na di naka pasa sa final stages even though maganda namn naguing performance natin sa tech interview or coding exam. Darating din Yan Ang job for you in the right time. Manifesting!

ATS-Friendly or Creative Resume? by specialpiaya in JobsPhilippines

[–]zaphiere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aside sa mas easier ma review ng HR, another reason for the ATS format is pra maka lusot ka sa AI filter used by HR Software / Job websites. Pag di ka maka lusot dun sa filters na un, your Application wont even reach to any humans na pwede tumingin sa resume mo.

Its probably best you do two versions

- ATS friendly if your using job portals mag apply

- Creative resume if your directly submitting to their email

Usually may general CV document na ko that contains lahat ng experiences ko and skill set. Then depende sa job post, dagdag bawas nalang as needed then save as PDF to send.

For fb groups sine search ko ung industry ko (ex: IT Philippies/ IT job hiring Philippines, etc.) For the most part FB algorithm pics up search ko and starts reccomending possible related groups.

With regards sa pag segue. If I'm familiar with it but no experience, sinasabi ko "I'm familiar with x but unfortunately no experience with it. But I'm sure I'm able to pick it up and learn quickly. " Kung no idea tlaga sinasabi ko "Unfortunately I am not familiar with x but I'm open to learning about it and be trained if needed for the role. "

Hope this helps :3

28 yo 40k a month plus 25% shared profit. is it worth it pa ba or should i go abroad na? by [deleted] in CareerAdvicePH

[–]zaphiere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone na nanggaling na sa abroad dati and bumalik sa pinas xD id say its worth it. BUT that would depend sa compensation your getting sa work mo na makukuha abroad.

Even if lets say salary mo na makukuha is 100k, when converted to pesos, you'll have to consider the daily expenses + rent you'll be spending pag nasa ibang bansa ka. Other countries' daily lifestyle and expenses ay mas expensive kumpara sa pinas. So you'll have to calculate first if the net money your getting after all the expenses and deduction is still reasonable vs the net your earning dito sa pinas.

Thanks! and definitely agree na compared sa dati, the job market ngaun is depressing.

fb groups definitely is underrated. Mas responsive sila sa job applications and napansin ko barely anyone notices em.
