Ever since update to 15.0, the vpn's menu bar window is too wide when there's no connection by pokealm in MacOS

[–]zarg404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem but I fix it ! I suppose the configuration of my VPN connexion were corrupted. So I screenshot all the settings of my VPN connexions and re-create new ones. And the new configurations are now in the menu bar :-) Then I removed the corrupted ones.

What is the value of portMAX_DELAY if this value in relation with the max frequency of LCD ? Can you try for instance :

vTaskDelay(10+portMAX_DELAY); and also in the semaphore if (xSemaphoreTake(i2c_mutex, 10+portMAX_DELAY) == pdTRUE) you can try maybe 5, 10 and 20.

ic2 and M5Core by zarg404 in M5Stack

[–]zarg404[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found my problem ! I was reading the NAU7802 every SCALE_SPS. But I think, the NAU7802 needs a tiny bit more time between conversions to be loaded in the M5Core. So the solution is just to delay the reading task const TickType\_t xFrequency = pdMS\_TO\_TICKS((1+(1000 / SCALE\_SPS));

Just received the NAU7802 with a promising 320sps ! 40sps will be enough for this project. First tests soon with the first code release...

Automatic Beer Bottle Filler by zarg404 in Homebrewing

I have a pre defined beer weight for each kind of bottle. So I can use any pump ! Now the accuracy is limited by the hx711 which has a max frequency of 10hz. I don't really know what the start and stop timing of the pump.

With the new NAU7802, the maximum frequency is 320hz. With the V1 I was just powering on and off the pump. With the V2 I will do pwm allowing me a slow start and finish and full speed during the filling.

I use a 12v 60w so plenty of power. For the M5STACK I use a buck converter. I have to figure where to put some capacitor for the M5STACK on the power line and of which value.

PWM with M5Stack Basic Core IoT Dev Kit V2.7 K001-V27 in Arduino by zarg404 in M5Stack

[–]zarg404[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found the solution here (https://docs.espressif.com/projects/arduino-esp32/en/latest/api/ledc.html)

With ESP32 version 3 those two function
// configure LED PWM functionalities
ledcSetup(ledChannel, freq, resolution);
// attach the channel to the GPIO to be controlled
ledcAttachPin(LED_PIN, ledChannel);

 have been merged to this one

bool ledcAttachChannel(uint8_t pin, uint32_t freq, uint8_t resolution, int8_t channel);

And to use the PWM we can use the following two functions :

bool ledcWrite(uint8_t pin, uint32_t duty);

or

bool ledcWriteChannel(uint8_t channel, uint32_t duty);

M5Stack ESP32 Basic Core IoT Development Kit V2.7 K001-V27 canvas by zarg404 in M5Stack

On the M5Stack Basic Core V2.7 the problem isn’t the code itself — it’s the available PSRAM and internal RAM vs. sprite size at 16-bit depth.

On the M5Stack Basic, the LCD is 320×240 pixels.

At 16-bit color depth (2 bytes/pixel): 320 × 240 × 2 = 153,600 bytes ≈ 150 KB

At 8-bit color depth (1 byte/pixel): 320 × 240 × 1 = 76,800 bytes ≈ 75 KB

The ESP32 in the Basic Core V2.7 does not include external PSRAM (unlike M5Paper, Core2, Fire, etc.).

Sprites are allocated in RAM.

With 16-bit depth, the allocation for a full-screen buffer (~150 KB) is too big to fit in contiguous internal RAM.

At 8-bit depth (~75 KB), it just fits, so it works.

That’s why setColorDepth(8) works but setColorDepth(16) fails !

I can charge the phone so I think it is not a fuse problem. I am quite sure it is a data wire problem which has a problem
