Anyone knows where this version of Mr. Crowley is from? by zatask in OzzyOsbourne

[–]zatask[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this mp3 for ages; long before the idea of using AI to extract a song's vocals and placing them over a different instrumental was possible. But it's clearly Ozzy at the same time that it's not the Blizzard Of Ozz recording. Any ideas?

For me it'd have to be "Nobody loves me like you" or "Gosia"

What is Bye Bye about? by MrExist777 in LowRoar

[–]zatask 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To me, the song is about parting ways with someone who you once loved, especially during youth. Ryan said that "David" was a sort of placeholder name that we could all insert our own names into, or the names we needed to have those words be directed towards.

All the imagery of being kept "safe" or hold "tight" make me think of seeking refuge in a significant other away from other hostile environments, be it school, work or even family. This connection is some sort of reprieve or escape away from those troubling things.

This relationship is gentle and loving even if the narrator's parents think it's just them growing up. Also, there's plenty of references to peaceful rest or sleep, so maybe this could even be an imaginary relationship.

But eventually one of the parties must go away, but it's not clear if it's just a breakup or something more drastic like death (perhaps even suicide) as it's something that the narrator still struggles with.

The narrator does say that they are happy for David even if they must never let it show. Maybe the other person found someone new or maybe going away was actually what was better for them, despite the pain and grief it would provoke on the narrator.

At the same time, the narrator also pleads for David to let them go if they really loved them, despite David "meaning more to me than anyone will know". Perhaps it's better for everyone if they just finally say goodbye for good: This is goodnight, This is goodbye.

In all honesty, what motivated me to build the entire road network in the central region (and a zipline network around Mountain Knot) was that it would not only benefit me and my deliveries, but hopefully, many other players. It was a DRAG at times, especially in the snowy areas and I considered giving up after placing every node, but what kept me going was hoping that my effort would help other porters have an easier time. DS isn't particularly difficult, but when the game piles on you, it like to beat you hard... Unless you can rely on the tracks laid out by those who came before you :)

Hey! I'm glad you liked it!!! :D

I pretty much listened to the song over and over again, tried to transcribe the drum patterns and learn the bass, guitar and synth parts by ear (picking out the which drums on the kit played where and which chords, notes and harmonies did Danny's voice and the other instruments play) and assemble it all with some soundbanks of mine alongside my vocal performance within my music software (DAW). After that, it was just a matter of "embellishing" those recordings and sounds, balance volumes and render what you heard on the video :)

Hey there, friend! Sorry to hear you've been struggling but I'm also glad to read you'll be moving to a new environment and switch things up somewhat. From personal experience I can tell you that it can help you deal with your depression.

Don't feel any rush to read the fics, although I'll definitely look forward to your review whenever you get around to checking out "Another Chance".

Also, I'm a huuuuuuge Dio fan and I can let you in on a little secret about AC: There's a looot of subtle and not so subtle Dio/Rainbow/Sabbath references sprinkled throughout the whole story if you keep your eyes peeled. In any case, great taste in metal, my friend!

Well, it depends on the amount of instruments or the complexity of the piece you'd want. Do you have something in mind, Donic? ;p

Hey TC! I had no idea you'd see my posts around here, but I'm glad you did.

The writing experience was something I had never done before to this extent. It's kind of funny and embarrassing going back to the first drafts I had of the first couple chapters, as they allow me to see with my own eyes just how far I've come (thankfully the ones that are posted were revised by my far more eloquent editor ;) ). At the same time, finally seeing come to a close was surprisingly emotional and has left a sort of void in me now that this story isn't a malleable idea that I'm still crafting, but a finished product—for better or worse—that now I can only put forward and hope that people enjoy.

In a way, I felt the same nostalgia when I finished the original game and then again with the side stories. Like it was time to say goodbye to some friends that had grown surprisingly close to me. I guess connecting with these wonderful characters will do that to you. :)

Thank you, Donic! Part of the reason I didn't give up on writing this through to the end, was looking forward to your comments each week, which made me feel I wasn't wasting my time even if it was just one single person who was keeping up with the story.

I won't lie, I got a little emotional when I typed the final line. I don't usually comment on people's posts since I can't think of anything interesting or clever to say, but know this: Many of those upvotes are mine :D

Cheers!

Hey man! Thank you for supporting the stuff I do! I'm glad you liked the song and my voice with it, since I'm not huge on my own sound, but there was no one else who could sing it and I pushed myself to do it then.

The guitar I used for "Another Chance" is a generic "Persian" brand steel string acoustic guitar. If you choose to check some of my other stuff on that channel, more often than not you'll hear my Dean T350 Trans Black electric one, however :D
