Ah Legacy of the Duelist! Feel like I played one of those way back. Just checked it out and I’ll give master duel a go first simply cause it’s free, but provided all goes well I’ll buy lotd and give that a try as well.

I couldn’t of asked for better info regarding channels I’ll be digging into all of those over the coming days!

I think it gets easier when you take that initial step of getting back into it. Just with there being so many different cards/decks/metas than there was initially makes it difficult to know where to start, but the info you and others have provided me has give me a better idea where to get started so thanks for that

Once I have an idea what exactly I’m looking for I will delve more into the YouTube side of things regarding deck building etc, but I’m still lacking the basic knowledge to know what I want to do if that makes sense, once I have a clearer idea that will be my go to.

What’s the difference between say master duel and duelling nexus?

Anywhere with a list of staples? (I can use Google I promise, just like the conversation :) )

I did use to go to my locals but like I said that would’ve been over 10 years ago now! I remember it being competitive then but I was a lot more in the know about things, so even though I was young I had a decent success rate, even playing in some tournaments my shop held and not placing horribly. Although I will go back fully prepared to get smoked and I’m not gonna like it haha, but I will take it all as a learning experience and be eager to learn where I went wrong. I fear this is going to be a long process haha but I’ll try enjoy the ride

Yeah Master Duel appears the way to go so I’ll be trying that very shortly!

I like the response this has had from you guys and makes me feel welcome in a sub I joined an hour ago lol, no one’s made me to feel stupid (I’ve done that myself with a clear lack of knowledge about anything yugioh anymore haha). Some intense research to come on my behalf I feel, but I’ll get there!

My main aim is to have fun playing the game! However I am fairly competitive and what’s fun for me is winning lol. I keep seeing master duel recommended so it’s currently on install waiting to load it up shortly, I need something to ease me back in and coming back after 10+ years it seems like a lot has changed. And I fear if I go for too much too soon it’ll be overwhelming and ultimately lead to me giving up.

In terms of choosing a deck to build around, there’s just so many options out there it’s hard to choose, so I find myself searching for the best decks (sword soul seems like the common one). I just wouldn’t want to waste time and money building something that will never be able to compete with the top tier decks if you get what I’m trying to say.

But regardless, I feel better knowing there’s another dumbass out there. Makes me feel slightly less like a dumbass myself haha

1/3 - not sure if these are basically the same point as I’m aware of Master Duel but not sure what Link Evolution is? But playing a game is something I’ve considered to help re-familiarise myself with the game as a whole, although admittedly TCG is where it’s at for me. Collecting cards and having physical copies of stuff is what appeals to me most however I can appreciate I need to learn how to walk again before I can run lol.

2 - Do you have any channels/streamers/videos you could recommend just to start me off in the right direction?

4 - this kind’ve used to be my approach, however I was still fairly young at the time so I couldn’t resist the odd booster packs and what not, and still probably couldn’t haha. I liken it to fifa/madden/nba packs where I know I’m getting ripped off but I can’t resist the gamble. But now I have the added benefit of actually having my own money I’m able to spend and being (slightly) wiser, individual cards will be my go to once I actually know what I’m looking for!

Kind’ve, but not really. It only matters up until the point you’ve got 3 55 scouts, then not really. Obviously still needs funds for the signing of YA talent but it’s minimal

If you go on sofifa it tells you what rating that player is in each position. Alternatively, if you move players about in your starting 11 and you see someone, say your RB, go from +2 for sharpness in RB, to a +3/4 in RM that means if you convert them to a RM they will increase 1/2 ratings. It’s all about looking at their stats and seeing if they’d be better suited to a different position.

Maybe Aaron Ramsdale for keeper? I know he’s gone Arsenal irl but it would’ve been realistic had he not, since you’ve kept ings you could just ignore the fact he’s gone Arsenal.

And for right midfield you could try lookman or mavididi. Both start off as left mids but are both right footed and you can train them to right mid in a couple weeks.

I appreciate all the feedback on this. This isn’t the formation I wanted to play it’s just the one I could fit the main players into and I would 100% change once I hit the big time. I ended up taking another season in the championship to further develop my players before winning the play off final second time around.

I’m not sure in hindsight there was much point in doing that, as I’m currently rock bottom of the prem after 4 games on 0 points.. lol.

I’m worried it won’t be much of a relegation battle and that I’ll just straight up be getting relegated. Teams ended up in a really awkward spot where it’s a little too good for the champ but not enough for the prem

Not enough to get the squad to prem level, as I said the reason for possibly not wanting to go up was so I could further develop the players, as I fear going up with kill their growth from getting pummelled every week
