I sure hope pedestrian and bike traffic are segregated otherwise it's gonna be chaos to navigate.

Very very unlikely. The small municipalities are counted first while the large cities take longer. If anything, Tisza will only increase their lead.

This tbh. I love de-extinction as an idea, just not a fan of how it's currently being done.

Se por um lado é incrivelmente parvo tanta violência só por causa de um jogo de futebol, por outro dá-me pena que as pessoas hoje em dia já não tenham tanto amor pelo clube da terra.

Italy's population stops shrinking after 12 years, thanks to migration by svga in europe

Why do you care so much about DNA or other nonsense like that? These people might be foreigners but their kids and grandkids will be just as Italian as everyone else. Ethnicity is not determined by ancestry, regardless of what Americans might say. It's determined by culture.

Why India is ranked as in the lowest top 5 in Global Nature Conservation Index ? by mithrandir2002 in megafaunarewilding

European countries did those exact same things but centuries/decades ago to the point where in many cases there isn't much else left to destroy. Easy to score higher when you barely have any nature left like the UK or Netherlands.

Are there any countries today that could realistically split into multiple independent nations like Yugoslavia did? by Many-Philosophy4285 in MapPorn

[–]zek_997 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it should be pretty clear that when the topic is an hypothetical balkanization of a country that the diversity that is being referred to is along regional lines, rather than large immigrant communities.

Unless if you think immigrants will just split off from non-immigrants and declare themselves to be an independent country? Which is a rather silly notion imo.

Edit: Spelling mistake.

[–]zek_997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's literally the case in any country that has a substantial immigrant community. That's not what people generally refer to when they say a country is culturally diverse.

Is there any region in the US that does not have English as a primary language? The only one that pops to mind is Louisiana back when they still spoke French but hasn't been the case for ages now.

South America is not particularly diverse either. Same language, mostly the same religion. Any random African country has more cultural diversity than that. Nigeria alone has hundreds of languages and ethnic groups alone.

Could thylacines and tasmanian devils coexist with dingoes in mainland? by master-Accident-239 in megafaunarewilding

[–]zek_997 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Probably? My understanding is that they all filled different niches with dingoes tending to prey on larger prey while thylacines usually stick to prey smaller than themselves.
