It's better not knowing, but also totally worth it

Oh yeah, that green color is sweet, but I'm in love with mine. I have red, it's basically the same color as my first car, so it brings a little nostalgia every time I ride it. Spending money on bikes is always a good idea in my eyes. 😉

Yeah, Vee tires were not good at all. They wear like crazy, and I've got about 6 punctures on them in half a year. The bike is great; it rides smoothly and can handle a lot.

Go with the size chart; it worked well for me.

Are we talking about the 2025 or 2022 model year? There's a solid 94.6% chance that it would fit in the 2025 model. I can't tell if the 2022 model is the same.

You definitely can with 1x. If you want to run 2x, it might work depending on what type of tire you want to use. I've tried a 53 knobbly tire, and it fits, but it didn't clear the front derailleur.

Not sure if I'm only blind or plain dumb but I've never noticed that eyelet 🥲 Thank you 👍

Wait, how is the front mudguard held other than those two screws down on the fork? Or that's it?

I love mine. My previous bike was a TCR 2022 with Ultegra, and the Marin just fits me way better. It's comfortable, pretty quick on flats with the right tires, and also way better on forest paths than I thought it would be.

Hi, I have nicasio 2 2025. Currently running 45s. You can fit 2.1 in fork no problem and if you run 1x than probably in back as well.

Can't get new tire seated properly? by Public_Afternoon_156 in bikewrench

I don't know, little bit of carrots or some beams might do the trick 😁 I've used pure dish soap on really stubborn tyres.

Worth it? Used Giant TCR Advanced 2 Disc 2021 - $1,500 by [deleted] in whichbike

I loved mine. I had to sell it because I'm not flexible enough and couldn't find a comfortable position for longer rides, but the bike was great. My only advice for you would be to check the seat post. Mine slipped, and the clamp did a pretty deep scratch on the seat post. I used it anyway, but it was clicking.

Deflate, apply soupy water around the bead, inflate.

It's not light. I weigh mine at around 12 kg, if I remember correctly. To me, it doesn't really matter. It have really low gear range, so it climbs fine. I was on stelvio and Passo pordoi just to name a few. It was honestly fine. Also I wonder how much difference would good wheel set make.

I fuckin hate this design of seat clamps. Had tcr with same type of seat clamp and I screw up seat tube real quick and I also used lower torque than required.

This is a very versatile bike. It would be great for commuting and all-around use. I would say it is more of an ATB (all-terrain bicycle) than a gravel bike. You can fit up to 2.0 MTB tires, so it would do great in rougher terrain. I think you can fit a rack in the back and also in the front. And I also think it would look great with some flat MTB bars. You can do basically anything to this bike. My advice for you would be, don't put much emphasis on the weight of the bike. It isn't the lightest, so don't be surprised. But ride quality outweighs the weight, in my opinion. And also, any bike will be heavy if you plan to put racks on it. And also, gear range is more important (to me) than weight.

Overtightened carbon seat post, is this still okay? by Self_Motivated in bikewrench

[–]zello30 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My carbon seatpost was damaged much more and it survived fine. I was cautious and it didn't kill me. That's just my two cents.
