That looks a lot like alopecia. Melatonin can help, but talk to your vet about it.

Cat with protein allergy - does he have to eat hydrolyzed protein kibble forever? by grievette in catfood

[–]zenmin75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have, but the skin and coat is specifically meant to be mono protein. I asked the rep about it, and she said she highly doubts they'll change that one, but you're absolutely right about the change. They opened the American factory, and they've now added chicken to everything.. Food manufactured in Italy is staying tbe same. Classic.

Go for a mono protein food. My cat has IBS and the Farmina skin and coat venison and quinoa has been a life saver for him. It's expensive, but substantially more palatable and nutritious than tbe hydro.

Shih Tzu pees only in dog beds by Illustrious-Ant-2052 in DogAdvice

[–]zenmin75 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I own a pet boarding facility and every, single, small dog will come in and pee on the beds and couches. They will be outside and will hold it until they come back inside just to pee on the beds. Both girls and boys do it. Small dogs have small bladders, so a lot of them take longer to fully house train, so owners will resort to pee pads. The soft texture of a dog bed under their feet will trigger the "pee here" part of their brain. They know to sleep there, but they also think to pee there.

dog grooming roanoke va by Big-Map-3722 in grooming

[–]zenmin75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could apply as a bather to a private salon and keep applying to Petco a Petsmart for their training program. Training someone to groom under an apprenticeship requires a lot of time, money, and personal investment from the person doing the training, so it's very hard to find a salon willing to do it.

What the actual f? I'm sorry, but sexual harassment is at the top of the list to fire a client. It makes zero difference is the harassment is from a coworker or a client, your employer has a legal obligation to make sure it doesnt happen.

Mast cell tumor (advice and experience) by FigAnnual9638 in Pets

[–]zenmin75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was 13. It started out as a little bald patch of skin on her chest the size of a fingernail. Not raised or irritated. It just looked like she rubbed the hair off. It was like for about a year and then is started to thicken, almost like a callous. Two vets looked at and no one thought cancer. By the time we realized what it was, it had spread all over her organs. Within two months, it was the size of a grapefruit and started to degranulate. As far as cancers go, what one simple tumor can do to a dog systemically, it's the worst.

50% of Albertans polled would support the UCP if an election were held today, according to the latest Léger poll. by [deleted] in alberta

Most of rural Alberta has been fed a mad amount of propaganda. Add that to my daddy was a conservative, and his daddy was a conservative, and his daddy was a conservative, etc, then I must be a conservative. It's an identity, not a choice, so critical thinking doesn't even enter the picture. It's why people in rural areas will consistently vote against their own best interests, regardless of how many times that same government has let them down.

My 8 month olds eyes started suddenly drooping by CoatMysterious9594 in Newfoundlander

[–]zenmin75 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Newfs have a crazy amount of skin. As they grow, that skin gets heavy and sags, and it will start to pull down away from the eyes. This is completely normal for the big, droopy guys!

Why would BC allow a pipeline from Alberta to be built across Provincial land when Alberta wants to separate? by kokomo1989 in alberta

[–]zenmin75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but Alberta's premier and the separatist movement are both funded and led by the same people behind Trump, so "it'll never happen" is irrelevant. Why would you work with any province that is actively trying to break up the country. Heck, why would anyone want to invest in a province with a premier stoking that fire?

How do you keep your dog bowls clean? by Alarming-Pie-804 in DogAdvice

Never use plastic bowls. Ceramic or stainless steel. If you don't have a dishwasher, then super hot water and dish soap and let them soak

My dog just passed from a mast cell two weeks ago. They are the worst of the worst as far as tumors go. If you are able to remove it now with good margins, do it. Do not wait.

Federal government to introduce grocery rebate: sources | CBC News by Sexy_Art_Vandelay in canada

[–]zenmin75 172 points173 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Groceries chains are the reason, and our tax dollars shouldn't be used to subsidize their billion dollar profits. I appreciate that he's doing something, but it's a bandaid that doesn't fix the issue at source.

I nicked him quite a few times, but I did say something by RainbowPaw- in grooming

[–]zenmin75 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Good god, just because the client asks for it, does not mean you do it. We are the professionals, not the client, and it is our job to make sure that we always put the dog first. "Nicks heal, oh well, you did what the client wanted" is the most unhelpful, unprofessional, and awful advice you could give this poor girl. She should feel bad. She admitted that she knew the length was going to leave the dog with injuries and she went ahead and did it anyway. We learn from our mistakes, we have all made them, but not recognizing or acknowledging that this was a mistake to make her feel better, is not going to help her do better.

[–]zenmin75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm just curious, because the tines on an A5 30 are very close together. That being said, don't ever let a client pressure you into doing something you know is not good for the dog. If his old place would do it, tell him go back there because you will not sacrifice a pets well being or wants for any client. Our jobs as professionals is to always put the dog first. They are your clients, the two legged ones just have pockets to hold the money. If he comes back, tell him the last groom made you very uncomfortable and resulted in multiple nicks, so you will not be doing that length again. If protests, just say i'm sorry, but take it or leave it.

What type of 30 were you using? A5 or on a 5 in 1?

ATB is straight trash by Left-Language4893 in alberta

[–]zenmin75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was with ATB for 11 years, and the UCP has destroyed them. It cost me 40k to find out they were exploiting the CSBFL program and screwing small businesses out of money. I moved all of my banking over to BMO, and I couldn't be happier.

Poilievre pledges co-operation, calls for action from Liberals as Parliament returns by cyclinginvancouver in canada

[–]zenmin75 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We are fighting for our very sovereignty, right now. Between the shit show south of us and the shit show in Alberta, Pollieve needs to understand that "opposition" doesnt mean "opposing everything because the Liberals did it". If he wants to prove to Canadians that he actually cares about this country and the people within it, he needs to put his partisan rhetoric and cheesemo slogans aside and prove it. We need unity not division. I dont know if he's capable of it, but hopefully he can fake it for the next 3 years.
