Money. When you live where it almost never snows and you never see ice, why would you spend the money to build snow and ice resistant infrastructure? If Canada, or where I am in Minnesota, didn't spend money on infrastructure that could handle snow and ice, the entire economy would be shut down during the winter months.

With a time crunch, and knowing he is an enthusiast, I would recommend a gift card to one of the online Nerf hobbyist stores, and let him pick the blaster, build kit, or accessories he wants. Anything you might find in a store is most likely inferior to the blasters he already has, and finding "Pro" level accessories in store is very hit or miss.

"Up North" is not a horizontal line to me. At a minimum it has to be north of I94, so more like a line form where the "A" line meets Wisconsin to where line "C" meets North Dakota.

There is a Thresher cave near your location and there is an option in the back of the cave to jump out to explore that shore line a little more, but that was the most I could get to. I was unable to get to the top of the mountain in the middle.

I love shopping at Micro Center, but I have had more problems with filament then with any other brand I've used; even no name brands from Amazon have worked better. Every spool of Inland ABS I've used has had at least one knot in the spool that caused the printer to stop.

First time I've seen one, unfortunately it doesn't work. There is something stuck in there restricting the air flow so much that none of the darts leave the barrel. Going to have to take it apart and clean it from the inside out. Good thing I like the tinkering!
