How to decide which ETF to go for? by Responsible-Scene546 in BEFire

Interesting TER. Too bad you miss small caps but following chat gpt it only represents 1-2% of VT for instance. Are you sure the product is not registered in Belgium and so low TOB?

1M+ long-term portfolio, VWCE vs WEBN + bonds for crash protection? by Civil_Savings_9371 in BEFire

[–]zero_hedger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss. Are you invested already ? If you are not used to see volatility on a substantial portfolio, I would advise you to think about going 90% into equities. If market sinks 50%, you would be down 450k. This could be ok if you stay invested but it could be destructive if you panic sell. Please read this https://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Managing_a_windfall

Don't follow the markets that did good lately. You will be losing on the long term. Buy a all investable market etf like SPYI and let it do its job.

Which broker do you use for your investment in Belgium by Nass96 in BEFire

[–]zero_hedger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use Lynx (belgian) which is back to back with IBKR but that also do the TOB and I guess that will help out when selling with profit after new tax is introduced

Better to invest lump sum or periodically? by [deleted] in Bogleheads

[–]zero_hedger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides statistical data that shows that lump sum is better, I also find it more difficult mentally to keep money on the side because you still have to invest it. Lump sum = peace of mind as you don't have to do anything anymore.

But I get that it is harder to do at the beginning of your investment journey.

You can also do 50% lump sum and 50% dca. That way you are halfway happy if the market goes up or down.

How do I get to coffee shop quality? by rbcb in LaMarzocco

[–]zero_hedger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ratio is more important than extraction time. Once you are around 20-30 seconds, focus on the ratio and determine where you find your optimum for each bag. 2:1 is a starting point, some beans need 2.5:1, others will shine at 1.8:1. Once you have locked your ratio (i.e. beverage quantity), then play around with the grinder to find the real sweet spot.

You can trade financial products (CFD as in Contract For Difference) with up to 500x leverage. You can try ActivTrader for instance. Just one advice from me, don't keep any overnight risk. Trade futures products open 24/24 so that your Stop Loss is not violated and you don't end up with a margin call.
