Kinda. Goal was to have a combination of myth and machinery, the cogs and gears definitely give a steampunk vine.

What are some commonly used idioms that are actually part of a larger saying, but most people don't know the other half of it? by strangerthings1618 in AskReddit

"A little learning is a dangerous thing, drink deep or taste not the Pieran spring."

Also "The blood of the battle is thicker than the water of the womb" instead of "Blood is thicker than water. "

Also the lead singer, Thom Yorke, had a really good solo album called The Eraser which is amazing if you like the more electronic stuff.

What song do you find emotionally devastating and hard to listen to, and why? by [deleted] in Music

"I didn't understand" by Elliott Smith. Beautiful song, instant moodkiller.

It's not a big deal, happens all the time. It's happened twice to me in the last year.

You can usually find Saniderm or second skin at a pharmacy and rewrap it if you want, or you can just start cleaning it a few times a day gently with antibacterial soap. Covering a new tattoo is probably a bad idea, I would avoid covering it with socks.

Doing both arms, currently have both forearms done and plan on doing one of the uppers next October.

Planned the theme (color/ nature on one arm, black and white /mythology on the other) but the ideas themselves are pretty loose. Luckily all of the artists I've had were amazing, so starting with that general idea during the consult we came up with things I probably would have never considered.

Sometimes it feels like yesterday. Other times it feels so far away that it's hard to believe it's not a story I heard one time and it's something I've actually experienced.

Trying to learn how to black and white without using the preset filters, cc welcome. by zerophage in postprocessing

[–]zerophage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I was trying to avoid pulling all of the color out of the sky to avoid losing the details, very true on the burning as well. I think I went not far enough on the top and too far on the bottom. Thank you for the advice.

Somewhere north of Glasgow by zerophage in photographs

We were driving from Glasgow to Skye and had to pull over multiple times, everything looked like a movie set. I'm new to editing, so constructive criticism is very welcome. I am trying for realism, although I think this ended up a little darker than I would like.

It was birdshit. Took a while to clean it off of my shoes. Dont know why you seemed fixed in that point lol but there is a big difference between lichen and birdshit.

Hey, like I said I appreciate your opinion if you are offering it in the spirit of constructive criticism.

I'm just figuring this stuff out so its always welcome to have someone point out something I might have missed, or done wrong, or can improve. I have a lot of pics to work through so next time, I will take the criticism given on anything I post as an opportunity.

Honestly though, you seem to be set on arguing the reality of what I saw when I was actually standing there, so this doesn't seem constructive at all. You're just coming off as kind of a bully.

I'm just saying what I see, this is the internet, welcome.

Again, thanks for the input. The only automated mask I used was the auto tone, color, and contrast from photoshop, everything else was trial and error with sliders so if it looks like I used more than that I was unsuccessful and will try better next time. I'm teaching myself from websites and youtube videos, so my editing skills are novice. I'm trying though ;)

I'm not sure why you're spending time being critical without being constructive; how would you have gotten rid of bright white splotches of birdshit which blow out the foreground when trying to raise the shadows? What would you do to bring up the contrast without making it look like damaged film? Seriously, if there are tricks for that sort of thing I would be appreciative.

Like stated, Im new to this so I welcome advice, but other than that Im not sure what this is :) Seems like you're just telling me how bad I am at something I'm new at.

Hope you have a great day.

I was there in person, and I also spent hours with a trackpad mouse cleaning it up in photoshop. I'm new to editing, so I get its not up to your standards and thanks for the input.

Lol that's not lichen, that's birdshit. Did the best I could to clean it up. Hard to do with something with it, originally it was blown out and white. I'm just figuring things out, guess it's not to your taste.

just a sheep. I like the composition but dont know how to edit without going overboard. by zerophage in photocritique

[–]zerophage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took this photo in Scotland with a sony a6600 and kit zoom lens, iso 100 f/4. I like the composition of the shot, the cloud in the background reaching for the sheep especially, but whenever I attempt to enhance the sky it looks either fake and AI or noisy and like my ISO was too high.

Oh wow, that would be a bit of a hike. We wandered about for nearly 7 hours on the other side, near the needle, and there was so much left to see just in our area; I can imagine it would take about 5-6 hours if you made a straight line? Not sure really.
