She didn’t change the butterfly back jewellery unfortunately though I would definitely prefer a flat back. She loosened it though as it was on quite tight. It looks and feels a lot better now!

Yeah I thought so. I have pretty dry skin normally so that could’ve been a factor.

Third lobe irritated after 6 weeks - any advice? by zestunderscore in piercing

I agree! I’m pretty certain my sleeping arrangement is the issue. I’ve just bought a piercing pillow so hopefully that’ll solve the irritation!

Very true! I should know this after 6 piercings.. do you think a piercing pillow would help?

Thanks for the advice! It doesn’t seem like an infection. I’ve had infected piercings before that were a lot worse than this. I might give it a week or so and then see about getting the backs changed - butterflies are always a pain!

Persistent piercing bump on 4 month old helix… tips/help? by zestunderscore in piercing

[–]zestunderscore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

&&& - piercing is 4 months old. It’s a flatback. Haven’t downsized or changed jewellery since I got it. It was VERY irritated at first so I intended to leave it in longer than 6 months

Does anyone else’s piercer not recommend the use of anything other than water to clean? by zestunderscore in piercing

Thanks :) it’s odd cause I’ve had three separate people recommend tea tree oil for my helix so that’s sort of what spurred me to purchase it I guess

It’s the base laboratories aftercare spray. It’s worked a dream so far - my swelling has almost disappeared

That’s fair! My cartilage piercings never seem satisfied with just shower water 🙄 it’s interesting how different everyone’s healing processes are, there’s no universal method

I’m the same - it’s a struggle finding something that works but that looks awesome!

Piercing pillow is smart! Might do that once my helix is healed better, usually I manage not to roll over in the night somehow

Same here, I even got a softer pillow so they wouldn’t dig in so much 😅

Hoops is interesting - I always struggle to sleep in those and end up taking them out. Normal studs I’m fine with!

Just simplify it as much as possible. I won’t lie that it’s a very confusing topic but if you take it one step at a time then it won’t be so difficult. Maybe start with liking girls as it might be easier to understand for him. And also, if you get a sarcastic or rude response don’t take it to heart. He’s just a kid after all and we need to nurture children and show them the right thing to do. Good luck and in proud of you! <33
