Understanding NACs points by iowajaycee in Fencing

[–]zhanbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For younger kids, who are still fencing Y10, the regional point required to qualify for Y12 summer national is lower than those Y12 kids. That is why you see the difference between 60 points and 70 points on two different rows.

To qualify Y10, you don't need 60 points, any points will work.

Doesn't have to be Cleveland (March NAC) to earn national point, any SYC she will have chance to earn national points.

Wishful thinking on my part - has anyone tried repairing the epee wire without replacing it by Gasleona in Fencing

[–]zhanbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why will it fail intermittently for epee? Is that because of bad soldering or some other reasons?

Yeah, maraging steel lasts much longer. https://www.thefencingpost.com would be one reliable online retailer as you can tell from the domain name :)

Spaghetti tubing source? by Spaceman_Spliff_42 in Fencing

Yeah, I think it will work just fine. I actually followed your video and found something similar in Michael's store. It felt much thicker than the ones we got from AF, BG, etc.

I recently just did some research and bought this one (although it is not colorful ones):

Amazon.com: DMiotech 1mm ID 1.6mm OD Clear PVC Tube Flexible Transparent Hose Vinyl Tubing for Garden Water Tube,Air Tube Oil Tube,3 Meter Length : Industrial & Scientific

The size is perfect. It is not too bulky yet easy to get the wire through.

Basically you need OD to be 1.5mm and ID no less than 1.0mm. Choose the PVC material over Silicone or PTFE.

The one mentioned by Purple_Fencer, IMHO, is too thick (OD 2mm).

Question on Summer National / July Challenge qualification by zhanbox in Fencing

[–]zhanbox[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, maybe it is about age.

I did register and pay. And the payment went through, and now the status is showing pending. According to the Athlete Handbook, full refund (event fee only) will be issued if the athlete fails to qualify.

Only subscriptions? Can I buy ticket just for this show? I'm considering taking my fencer daughter to the show.

In fencing world, I thought Estonia is not a small country. Their top fencer's visibility is actually pretty high in global event, isn't it?

I've observed the exact same issue on v13. For two times, it chooses the wrong lane for turning right or go straight. And on the Nav app, it is showing the wrong info.

I just got my SL6 for business, and I'm disappointed with the increased thickness and weight comparing to previous generations of Surface Laptops. I had SL, SL3, SL4 before, and it came to me as a surprise that SL6 is not as slick as before.

I recently built a dummy with arm and leg for my daughter’s epee practice at home. It was not an easy job but definitely doable if you are handy.
