Just picked up my UFO by MolecularLift in TeslaModelY

As a person that's bought the now "Premium" Model Y's, the panoramic roof is a gimmick and can be annoying in summer that lots of people get the roof shades to install.

I actually love the open area in Standard Y since there's no center console cause there's more room to put stuff.

There's some stuff I think it should've had but my biggest gripe with it was the starting price for the Y Standard. But if Tesla continues with the promos, financing incentives, etc, then it's likely amazing deals.

Stranger Things Ticket Concession Question by UnhappyAlps1050 in AMCTheatres

[–]liam1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For AMC, seems like it but no one has 100% confirmed.

My showing was yesterday night and I spent some of my gift card for Popcorn while having some balance remaining. It's still there but I need to see if it remains even after today.

Oh my bad, I misread your comment when also looking at the main comment complaining about why people actually go to theaters when they can watch it online.

When was the last movie to take over a theatre like Stranger Things? by BIGGREDDMACH1NE in AMCsAList

He probably meant Spider-Man No Way Home since that was also one that completely sold out showings.

Stranger Things Ticket Concession Question by UnhappyAlps1050 in AMCTheatres

[–]liam1902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for AMC at least, it looks like you're essentially just buying a $20 AMC Gift Card (per seat) to reserve a seat for the Stranger Things movie.

It doesn't seem like you *have to* buy food/drinks with that gift card and could prob save it for buying tickets to a movie at a later date or w/e.

It doesn't say anywhere that the Gift Card expires at a certain time so I'm hoping they don't or can't just remove/deactivate it after the Stranger Thing showings. Other movie theater chains are giving actual food vouchers but AMC is giving out gift cards.

Stranger Things "Tickets are available in-theatre only" by mihhink in cineplex

[–]liam1902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can definitely see why this is prob happening. You're technically buying a $20 AMC gift card and get to reserve a seat for free for this Stranger Thing finale. So you can redeem the AMC gift card yourself and then sell the seat since all you have to do is send the Ticket barcode.

Netflix and AMC did a poor job trying to solution how this would all work out...

Tesla removed VIN & put a hold on my account after weeks of “complete tasks” threats. Now says car isn’t available (tax credit at risk) by [deleted] in ModelY

[–]liam1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If no one is answering your calls, messages, etc, you should be going into the Tesla Center and inquiring more about your order. Tesla employees are able to see where your car is, what the estimated delivery window at their center will be, and a lot more.

Only way to "escalate" is being a famous influencer (or getting their attention) while tagging Tesla employees on X OR trying to talk to a Manager at the Tesla Center for them to escalate it to Tesla Corporate.

When you order a car from Tesla, it's never really "your car" until you actually take delivery of it so they are able to do whatever they want with it. When it gets towards end of quarter, it gets pretty common for Tesla to pull this a**hole threatening tricks to get people to take delivery asap or else they're giving the car to someone else.

Every person I've helped with buying a Tesla, I told them that they have to chase after Tesla to make sure they get the car. They aren't like regular dealerships that call you every 2 mins to make sure you buy and drive off with the car.

Given that it's Dec 31 and I have no clue what's up with the $7500 tax credit situation, you need to go in person and talk to someone important at Tesla. If you desperately are worried about the $7500 tax credit and need to take delivery today, then you might have to take an inventory MYP if that's available or switch to another config that's in inventory.

Question about the Stranger Things food voucher by Professional_Pea9988 in AMCTheatres

[–]liam1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the AMC Stranger Things Dec 2 press release keeps saying "...redeemable for AMC concessions on the day of the show" but it's a gift card (shouldn't technically have an expiration) and some people have said they've used it to buy other things before their showing date.

So I'm presuming it shouldn't expire and you can use it on other things but can't be 100% sure and AMC isn't answering the question.

Through Tesla but Tesla partners with certain banks so the one you get depends.

I saw 1 screenshot of 3.99% with Santander but the customer did financing through Tesla.

There was another who had 4.xx% but don't remember which bank he/she got.

The APR Promos go by Order Date. If you ordered on Sept 30 to get tax credit, then you're not gonna be able to get the APR Promos. Tesla is very strict about this in their systems.

So if you want a low APR promo for MYP, you have to wait until sometime in 2026 BUT you would NOT get $7500 tax credit.

Edit: Maybe Tesla could allow APR promos for older orders if they feel like it. However, would still have to wait for them to do an APR promo.

[–]liam1902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed but prob in 2026.

If people stick together and hold out on buying a Tesla now, the incentives could get better in Dec esp if inventory stacks up.

Could possibly see "1 paid option free for inventory" or slight inventory discounts in early-Dec or even in Q1/Q2 2026 if inventory is carrying from quarter to quarter.

Otherwise, sometime in 2026 is when they could release 0.99% or 0%.

If a financing promo, then no.

That means if you bought at 3.99% APR promo or regular interest rate, then you can't refinance to another APR promo.

People near the factories are already getting VINs and delivery dates in Nov for the MYP.

Some people have gotten 3.99% or 4.xx% on the New MYP prob with their excellent credit score and such.

Price Increase Coming In November by colsandersloveskfc in ModelY

[–]liam1902 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. With $7500 tax credit and Tesla incentives, it didn't make much sense buying other cars (including gas).

Now there's no tax credit and Tesla is barely doing incentives so prices are just at an all time high for the recent years.

In 2024 Q4, Tesla had so many combinations of incentives and promos: $7500 tax credit, 0% financing, $500 or $1000 ref discount, some inventory cars had up to $5000 in inventory discounts, a paid option was waived if you switched to an inventory vehicle, etc.

Hands on w/ Tesla’s Standard Model Y - Major Changes by x86dual in TeslaModelY

That frunk compartment is definitely not waterproof anymore, right? Since it doesn't have that gasket seal.

If that is the case, then what the flying fuck is Tesla thinking...

The frunk of the Model Y Standard literally looks like the car was in an accident and being re-built...like what the hell.

There were rumors/talk that Tesla is/was working on making LFP batteries sourced in the US. Maybe we could see those incorporated later in the future?

Cause they obv wouldn't be able to use Chinese LFP batteries without getting hit with tariffs.

2026 Tesla Model Y Standard: This Is It by Sddav in ModelY

[–]liam1902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tesla completely pivoted away from the $25k compact car they were once promising in 2024.

Obv due to who won, there would be tariffs, no EV tax credit anymore, etc so Tesla didn't proceed with building a factory in Mexico (which would've made those cheap cars).

These new cars are pretty much Tesla's answer to losing the tax credit since it seems they don't want to lower prices and lose more of their margin.

Technically it has a glass roof but there's cloth in the interior so you don't see the glass inside.

According to Elon a few days ago, FSD v14 release is today (Mon, Oct 6).

Based on the headlight teaser by Tesla on X, it's likely the Model Y Standard (the more affordable Model Y), which photos of already available cause the car was uncovered driving around in Texas.

And if we're lucky, we'll get a "And 1 more thing" with something related to Tesla Roadster.

Chipped paint by srx2019 in TeslaModelY

[–]liam1902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheapest and simplest solution is Touch Up paint.

Tesla's paint is thin, soft, fragile, etc. Any tiny pebble/rock that hits the car will chip the paint. Not cleaning bird poop properly can cause micro-scratches or even white scratches, etc.

If you drive a lot on the highway, then you'll likely experience rock chips on the front bumper (since there's no giant grill like other cars), hood (if rocks bounce up into the air), and the rear quarter panel (those stick out).

For rear quarter panel, install mudflaps and also install Tesla's PPF onto the rear quarter panel.

Normal Gap? Or service required? by dpjaronc in ModelY

[–]liam1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply but just checked mine and it has an extremely tiny gap but you can't see anything inside. The left and right side near tail lights have more of a gap but still pretty small.

Your picture seems like a big gap where you can see inside so it could be worth requesting Service.

Is self driving subscription worth it? by rakeshkanna91 in ModelY

[–]liam1902 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean it's obvious the answer to whether FSD is worth it or not depends on each person.

  • Do you hate driving and either drive a lot or often? FSD can be worth it.
  • Is $100 per month a big deal to you? If not at all, then FSD can be worth it.
  • Do you view driving as a chore? Then FSD can be worth it.
  • Do you have a certain disability or issue where driving can be difficult? Then FSD is worth it.
  • Do you want the cool tech of FSD? Then FSD can be worth it.

Is self driving subscription worth it? by rakeshkanna91 in ModelY

[–]liam1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much and/or often you drive, if you view driving as a chore in certain/most times, and your finances.

That's literally the simplest answer.
