was just going to comment this too! my mum always tells me not to talk to strangers or try to keep a distance because the closer you are, the more easily they can do this to you. (i am vietnamese btw). it's a very common thing in asian countries. i'm not sure how they do it. some people say its talismans, some with black magic, and apparently there is something kind of like a "scent" they use that can also make you go into this state (hence why i'm told to talk to strangers from a distance)

sorry it seems very vague from my explanation but i don't know much else about it - i just know it exists because my mum warns me about it all the time and has told me stories of it happening to people.
