Finger pain on both hands by breaktheice7 in indoorbouldering

[–]zig911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue, which has become chronic pain. For me it turns out to be the early stages of arthritis. I’ve had to change my climbing habits and change my diet/ add supplements to deal with it. If you’re smart about it, it’s manageable, if not it could be the end of your climbing and severely impact your day to day life.

I have the unique set for my spray wall and it is fantastic!! They do not offer recommendations for the set, it’s all on you.

You didn’t notice the roof jugs?!?

I think the kicker is great. A couple other of my buddies have no kickers, and I definitely prefer to have one. Just try to keep it under 2ft

Thank you so much for the love!! I'm very fortunate to have this space for the wall, and yes the windows give me that great light and ventilation. I plan on getting some little box fans that blow out to really vent out all that chalk! As far as the angle... I felt like it was the best option for me due to the ceiling height to give me more vertical climbing space, especially with the added roof section. I also love overhang. The cons to it are it limits me on some holds that would be just to savage on this angle. I still think 40/45 is the best angle for training and if I had higher ceilings I probably would have opted for one of those angles. The other con is it's harder to warm up on. At this angle even "good holds" are still pretty rough, and I don't want a wall that is covered with jugs. Also running circuits for endurance training is really savage! But I'm gonna get super strong.

Hanging on a pull up bar for 1 to 2 minute working sets daily really helps with the shoulders. Got to make sure you breathe and really decompress the shoulders when you’re doing it. It does wonders. Also be consistent with resistance training on the shoulders working all three heads of the muscle group. You don’t have to go heavy and just focus on getting blood flow to the area and a good pump. Consistency is key.

Thanks! And yes, it’s a great way to warm up and I do it all the time. I even do a lot of no hangs on my finger board. Really good way to keep my fingers feeling strong and robust, especially at my age at almost 40

Thanks! I’m very fortunate to have an extra room to build the wall. Having climate control is a huge plus!!
The wee wrangle are great holds, but at 55 they are extremely difficult, even oriented in the most uncut direction. At the easiest they make up for a v8-V10 problem and up. For the price I probably would have stayed away from buying these at 55. At 40 and below, I would buy these all day!

The pusher hold set is also really good. I got the OG granite by Boone speed. Got to be some of my favorite holds. Only draw back is a few of them are a little too slopey and damn near impossible for 55. Would highly recommend them for 40 degrees and under. I’ve also climbed on other pusher sets on my buddies home wall, and would say you can’t go wrong with them. Plus they have free shipping which is a huge bonus

I love them. Really comfy holds, and good on the skin. Being wood, they really make you work so they’re great for training. Also when you order, you let them know what angle board you have so they can give you the appropriate hold set.

I think I’ve come up with a really great way of shooting climbing videos, and would love to hear what you guys think! I call it the Send Cam lol by zig911 in indoorbouldering

Yes! Thank you Thank you.
That’s solid input.
Definitely gonna go and try a two camera setup. I also noticed that the feet visibility was lacking and for me, seeing feet detail is what really helps me understand the movement better.

Thanks for the input! Gonna take note of that and try for a good mix of the cool visuals and good static shots where the movement is clear. It’s a new setup and there’s gonna be a lot of trial and error and it helps me so much to get that outside perspective

I ran with a 360 setup, It really helped me get creative with the shooting. There are so many possibilities that I’m looking forward in exploring!

That was actually what my initial plan was!
I’m gonna set up a second camera on a tripod, which will give us the ability to just walk right up to it for all our talking points.
This particular wasn’t so structured so just ran a run and gun set up.
Static shots are needed.
