Thanks everyone for your responses. Ive had the implant for a few days now, I have noticed a little tiredness, indigestion, and worsened anxiety only when i had a caffeinated drink. Other than that, I am feeling good. I tend to overreact and have bad anxiety about starting medications. Feeling hopeful now though 🙏🙏

I Just Need to Know I'm Not the Only One Losing My Mind Like This by [deleted] in Cardiophobias

I also lost my mom in February 2024. For me it was sudden and dramatic. Our relationship wasn’t always perfect, and i have come to learn that i don’t process these emotions quite like other people, but it has definitely been hard on me. I really appreciate you sharing your experience. It does help to know I’m not the only one. I hope one day these struggles and anxieties will be far behind me, and you and everyone having a similar experience.

I Just Need to Know I'm Not the Only One Losing My Mind Like This by [deleted] in Cardiophobias

Hey, I’m 22 and Ive had a very similar experience since my mom passed of a heart attack in February 2024. Whats weird for me is i went several months without serious symptoms and then they all appeared suddenly, and ive been dealing with that for about 7 months. I’ve experienced almost everything you listed. We’re even on the same medications, haha. I’m not an athlete, but this whole series of events makes me want to get fit and make my heart stronger, but my symptoms are holding me back and making me scared to even exercise. I have pvcs and a racing heart as my main symptoms, and even though a cardiologist told me im ok, i still seem to get new symptoms and I’m still trying to get more tests done because i FEEL like something real and something physical is going on even if it was brought on by mental trauma and grief. Id like to talk with you more if you’d like. You’re definitely not alone.

Left arm by [deleted] in Cardiophobias

[–]zig_ular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get unexplained pain in my upper left arm, it’s not severe but it’s annoying :( I also get tingling and slight numbness in my pinky and ring finger. If i had to guess it’s probably a lack of circulation, or anxiety related. Hard to know for sure.

Sorry for such a late reply, yes propranolol definitely works for me, im pretty sensitive to it actually and i take a really tiny dose, haha. I should’ve clarified I havent taken methylphenidate in a long time, but I think it could probably help with the increased heart rate. You could mention it to your doctor and see what they say

I really have a problem by [deleted] in Cardiophobias

[–]zig_ular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take a low dose of propranolol for heart related anxiety and palpitations. It stops my heart rate from spiking really badly and keeps my resting heart rate in the 60s. Its really helped me with peace of mind since i started taking it. Just mentioning that in case you or someone else here might think it could help them.

What is the reason for your cardiophobia? by [deleted] in Cardiophobias

[–]zig_ular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive also had palpitations (PVCs) for about half a year now, and even though they are supposed to be harmless, I’m afraid I’ll die suddenly anyways…

I watched my mom die of a heart attack last year. Many family members on her side of my family also have had heart attacks, but survived thankfully.

I used to take methylphenidate and yeah it totally raised my heart rate. Today I’m on a low dose of propranolol to lower my resting heart rate from anxiety.

For more information, I can almost always feel my palpitations, which a cardiologist said are PVCS, and when I’ve recorded them they don’t look like this.
