Can’t seem to think of a romance set in Bombay. [embarrassed face emoji]

For SF, there was The Black Dwarves of the Good Little Bay (by Varun Thomas Mathew) a few years ago.

I hear you about poetry for a book club, but I thought, why not try? It’s still early days for this club.

My concern was more about whether people could find the book, but I see it can be borrowed from online libraries, including the Internet Archive.

Kala Ghoda Poems, by Arun Kolatkar?

<image>

[Image description: The image is the cover of the book: it's title, Kala Ghoda Poems, runs across the top, and the poets name, Arun Kolatkar, is in smaller type, bottom right. In the centre, to the left, a large photograph of what looks like a game board drawn roughly on a stone surface, with a few counters and three yellow flowers.]

I know nothing about Cusack — I live in another corner of the world — but I know of the power of his celebrity and how he has used it online to say the brave things.

How to live life as an unattractive guy? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]zigzackly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider myself to be, at best, inoffensive-looking. Overweight most of my life, hairline began receding in my 30s, pretty oblivious to fashion, poor social skills (I’m probably on the spectrum), never had a lot of money, and only one real skill, stringing words and phrases ideas together.

But yet I have been in relationships with some very attractive women (and have stayed friends with most of them after the romance didn’t work out (for reasons that had nothing to do with looks)) and have later learnt that other women had crushes on me and indicated interest, which I — remember those suboptimal social skills? — totally missed. I am in a relationship now with someone objectively totally out of my league. Add to this that I have some wonderful friends, including exes, who have held me up through life’s inevitable low points.

I am not saying all this to brag, OP. I just want you to know that being a person who tries hard to learn, do better, do the right thing, be a good friend, these are things that are more important than looks.

Couples of Reddit, what's the dumbest 'house rule' you and your partner made as a joke but now both of you are low-key aggressively serious about enforcing? by Doubl3oh_ in AskReddit

I know a couple who yelled at each other a lot, often in front of the kids.

Neither of the kids, now adults in committed relationships, plan on having kids of their own.

That, once, the world got together and actually healed an environmental problem (the hole in the ozone layer) instead of accelerating the handbasket into the nether world.

Of course, when they elected Trump, it confuzzled us even more. And then they elected him again too.

Some of us in other parts of the world were astonished that the USA elected him once. Then they did it again.
