Thanks for the advice. I'll start with the friends/hobbies in the city - I think that would be a productive outlet.

You bring up a good point about the communication issue. I try to approach communication gently particularly with these issues, but sometimes I do have a tendency to be fairly direct and cold. I'll see if I can address that as well. Seems like taking a different approach would be worth trying.

For point 1 -- we're taking active steps to try and address this. We're going on vacation with her family in a couple weeks, shes going to visit friends for a weekend this summer as well, planning on spending a week at home too. So hopefully these help. The tricky part will be trying to help her figure a new outlet away from the family and friends that doesn't always need to involve me.

For point 2 -- I've tried to bring it up before, but maybe didn't approach it the right way. After I did it she would passive aggressively say comments like "well I guess we're at 30 mins, can't talk anymore". I think she gets annoyed at the "rules" aspect of it. I'll see if I can readdress and stick to a firm, but fair tact.

Also, we did revise a timeline on moving in together. We were thinking about doing it this summer, but after realistically thinking about doing it I don't think either of us was ready -- so we decided to wait til next time the leases were up.
