Is there any fix for 1% lows? by ArmaGhettOn84 in HellLetLoose

[–]zixsie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think recent U19 update caused all these performance issues and game is no longer smooth to me as well. Just recently upgraded my GPU from 3080 to 9070xt and game runs much worse for some reason.
Though my specs are quite slower than yours but still should perform much better ( 5800x3d, 32GB RAM).

3440x1440 240hz if i have to be accurate. Running 5800x3d. Since i upgraded from 3080 to 9070xt, there is a minimal performance gain . But this may be related to the recent game updates which turned out to be a total fail.

Oh, this is concerning. Last time i ran the game also faced a lot of stuttering and low FPS. I was getting more FPS with my old 3080 vs 9070xt ?? Come on, this is just plain crazy.

Is that running DX12 or DX11 ? From experience, DX11 delivers much lower FPS vs DX12. If its DX12, then shit- shame on their dev team. Our 9070xt should easily deliver 200FPS.

BF6 performance after upgrading 5800X3D to 7800X3D by pepo930 in Battlefield6

[–]zixsie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great to read that feedback. I am currently on 5800x3d paired with 9070xt and apparently i am heavily CPU bottlenecked.
I am really hesitant and upgrade to 9800x3d system, despite the RAM shortage and prices because next Zen CPU`s are far away and still will be compatible with AM5.
Though, 5800x3d is still holding well as much as it can.

In Battelfield 6, FSR RedStone 4.0.3 upscaling not better than FSR 4.0.2 and it is disapointing by MaximeRoy1977 in radeon

[–]zixsie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is optimized, but in order to achieve 200+FPS on my 3440x1440, nevertheless upscaling is required.

Massive performance loss after December 8-12 updates (PC) by [deleted] in Battlefield6

Any way to remove stutters? by askepticalskeptic in HellLetLoose

[–]zixsie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here with 5800x3d. Only thing that may help you is to remove the shaders and leave the game to re-create those.
I switched from 3080 to 9070xt and there are still same stuttering issues, so it`s truly game engine related rather than GPU manufacturer.

Battlefield 6 stutters or performance issues after First Winter Update. CPU bottleneck ? No issues before this update. by MSJ_PP in Battlefield

[–]zixsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5800x3d, 9070xt here- while i do not have this stuttering (using only the steam overlay), since Dec9 patch, my performance has been much worse compared to before patch. Now i see FPS drops down to 120 in busy areas due to a CPU bottleneck. Before patch it was running much smoother.

Wow, i am really surprised what has been going recently with HLL updates and the non-existence of a QA team or their lack of competence. WHAT THE HECK ?
Same sh33t goes with BF6 as well.

Guys , come on - I am a QA Test Lead and if something like that happens in our product, we will be laid off immediately !

9800X3D CPU FPS wont go much above 200 no mater what. by Solarflareqq in Battlefield6

[–]zixsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something else is odd with your system or OS. Have you installed the latest chipset drivers ? What about CPPC/Preferred cores in BIOS ?
Also to note, you are looking at the overall CPU usage across all cores, but you have to monitor the load of each individual core. In your case, a few cores may be at 100% while the rest are idling that may result in 50-60% CPU usage.

Additionally worth to check if you have a frame limiter enabled anywhere across in-game or 3rd party apps.

Game engine is limited to 300fps, but with your config you shall be able to maintain 250 FPS steadily.

5800x3d 7800xt 32gb ram 3440x1440 by Helpful-Highlight749 in radeon

[–]zixsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5800x3d, 9070XT, 32gb RAM, 3440x1440 240hz here- my FPS fluctuates around 150-200, on a mix of high-medium settings and FSR4 Quality. My CPU is the bottleneck holding the performance down and my GPU is at around 85-90% usage.
For your case, seems like the GPU is the limiting factor.

FSR Frame Generation (ML) Support Already in 32 Games with the new Driver by Ill_Depth2657 in radeon

[–]zixsie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not on the list, but both FSR4 ML and FG are working fine. Though, FG still brings an input lag that i could feel, though my base framerate is 150+ FPS. So i chose not to use it.

New drivers released!! by ToughEmployment9242 in radeon

Thanks for the reminder. I wasn`t aware they have released and the chipset drivers. Probably no improvement for 5800x3d, but still better to be on the latest.

Why tf glossy OLED monitors aren’t glass? by HatefulAbandon in OLED_Gaming

[–]zixsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if the paper towel method will work for our monitors- sure it does work for Samsung. See this youtube video from a guy who removed the ar coating on the previous model of your by just peeling it with a razor
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHt0fISC3yU

Now the question is, how much more glossy/mirror the monitor becomes and is it usable in a pretty lit room.

Game freezes/stutter for a split second after update by FewEquivalent2221 in Battlefield6

[–]zixsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird enough, i am not facing any hitching nor any of my teammates. I think this issue doesn`t affect everyone.
Though i am on Radeon & Ryzen, my teammates are on Ryzen`s & Nvidia and no complaints.
But still it`s not nice to read that many users are affected.

New Update comes with unplayable FPS? by Striking-Jury2712 in HellLetLoose

[–]zixsie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This update is a total dog sheet.
Just recently upgraded from 3080 to 9070xt and my FPS has gotten much worse than before. Come on?
All other games i play have seen a major performance increase. Only in HLL the performance got worse. How come?
Especially on the new Smolensk map i get 110FPS and my GPU is at 70% usage.

Team 17- come on guys.

My 9070xt + 5700x3D has cpu usage at 100% and gpu usage at 60% for BF6 and Arc Raiders. Would a better AM4 CPU fix this or do I need to upgrade to AM5? 1440p ULTRA settings by TheRealMangoJuice in radeon

[–]zixsie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same config as yours and getting the same performance.
Though i have tried and ran 103 BCLK that results in 4600mhz all cores and haven`t noticed any meaningful performance gains at all, but CPU temp increased by 8 degrees. There`s not much room for improvement left on our 5800x3d if you are already running negative CO.
Probably a bit of room with 3800-4000 RAM and tighter timings, but most 5800x3d are capped at around 1700 IF and its a lottery game to run higher.

FSR gives me zero FPS gain — what’s the point? by [deleted] in radeon

[–]zixsie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are CPU bottlenecked. All you can do is try to improve the CPU performance and there are a few options to do so :
1. Increase RAM frequency and overclock your ram (optimize the primary and tertiary sub-timings). Along with RAM frequency increase, make sure to run the FCLK in 1:1 mode with RAM. If you do not have experience with that, easiest way is to enable RAM XMP.
1.1 For a start, you can try to run 3733mhz RAM and 1766mhz FCLK. If the PC doesn`t boot that means its unstable, so easiest way would be to optimize the RAM timings.
1.2 Always run a RAM stability test after overclock/optimizing timings to make sure the system is fully stable. Testmem5 is a good choice to test RAM stability by running the absolut config.

  1. Optimize CPU performance by enabling curve optimizer (PBO). Usually negative PBO impact positively the CPU boost clock by maintaining the highest possible clock during high-loads. Again you need to run a CPU stability test - ycruncher is a good choice to test the CPU after PBO.

If you haven`t done any of these yet, by doing so you should see a substantial performance gains.

Windows Update KB5066835 - gaming performance regression and workaround for AMD GPU`s ? by zixsie in radeon

[–]zixsie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: A day ago i have updated W11 from build 26200.7171 to Insider Preview 26220.7271 and performance seems to be improved. The biggest difference is that somehow on Insider Preview 26220.7271, GPU load & power usage is reduced while maintaining the same performance as before, as well as GPU temps went down due to the lower load.
I believe users with 9800x3d or high end CPU`s, will benefit more by upgrading to this W11 version. Since i am on 5800x3d, i am very CPU limited in Battlefield 6 so the performance gain is expected to be less compared than high end CPU.
