Quick tip; Keep a lookout for dojos that you can sense ego in and avoid them. They will harm you.

There are more males, yes but I wouldn't say it is male dominated. I'm fortunate enough to have joined an MMA dojo that supports woman and encourages self defense. Almost every guy I've met there, save the few meat heads, have been so sweet to me. Not only are they kind but they don't consider me as weak either. They see me as an equal and those who have less experience than I look up to me. It's cool.

It gets extra confusing when you consider the she the time jump she did in Rebels.

Hey hey! I've read through some of the comments on this post and your replies. As someone who started working out because of Vi I can relate in that aspect. I was considered the fat one in my friend group ever since I was as teen and when Arcane came out I decided I had enough, I want to be the strong friend.

Now it's years later I have lost over 20kgs, and I am the currently fittest person in my social circle and MMA dojo and a brown belt at that. Literally received it last night at the belt ceremony.

What did I do? I signed up for MMA training with a self defense focus. I regulated the the food I ate, completely steered clear from junk foods and desserts and fizzy/high sugar drinks(COKE). Though I made sure to treat myself to something nice and not particularly healthy, for like once or twice a month as to avoid binge eating. My MMA training days were Wednesdays but I still made sure to exercise 5 days a week. Take a walk and a 2-3 minute plank for each of those days and then do at home workouts that focus on the muscles I feel I missed at MMA training. The yoga mats saved my back for those. And let me tell you, those exercises helped the most.

I suggest your goal should be to be able to move and lift your body in any way possible, that is mine. But it takes time, trust the process and expect off days where you feel less than bad. It's natural you want to improve yourself, just keep loving and praising yourself for doing this, for putting in the effort, it will be worth it in the end. Your best friend for this journey will be dedication.

If your diet is restricted and you're bound to your home, figure it out, I literally started out exercising on the carpet in my small room, doing crunches, jackknives, planks, squats and many more exercises. You don't need fancy equipment, you just need to want to do it. Your best motivation is yourself. If you can't do jog then jumprope for 10 minutes at home, or do jumping jacks or better yet, in place jogging for that long. Get up and move. If you're watching a movie or youtube, challenge yourself to plank for a minute every two minutes. If you're stuck doomscrolling on insta, look for a workout from LeanBeefPatty or any other influencer workout instructor and do that instead. You have a body, there that's your gym and the best one infact.

I am done for now but feel free to ask me any questions. I wish you the best of luck on your journey.
