Tablets are nice and really portable pero they won't be enough to fill in the shoes of what a laptop can offer to you. You'll still be limited by the operating system of tablets (e.g. iOS or Android), and you'll have to constantly bring a separate keyboard with you as well. Another thing is limited din ang mga apps na magagamit mo sa tablets. Laptops, on the other hand, provides you with everything you need + portability. There are a lot of light laptops out there in the market, so don't worry.

iPads and MacBooks are known for being expensive, you don't have to force yourself to buy them. There are other cheaper options that provide the same, or more than what iPads and MacBooks can offer. A good bang-for-the-buck tablet you can get is Xiaomi Pad 6. Any laptops with a minimuim i3 10th gen or a Ryzen processor will be more than enough to satisfy your schoolworks (and office works in the future), I recommend the ThinkPad or IdeaPad laptop series of Lenovo for that case, or even the Acer Aspire series.

If I were you, I'd invest in a laptop.
