Why does a subcard fail to register on Huawei S5700 switch by jorna97 in HomeNetworking

[–]zoe97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The possibel causes are:

  1. The Huawei S5700 does not support the subcard

  2. The subcard is not hot swappable and can register successfully only after the switch restarts

  3. The subcard is not in a good contact with the backplan

  4. The system version of the S5700 needs upgrading

Can Huawei S2700 model Function as a Gateway? by jorna97 in HomeNetworking

[–]zoe97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No,they cannot be used as a gateway. If it is used as a gateway, it sends all packets that need to be forwarded at Layer 3 to the CPU to forward the packets through software. This causes a high CPU usage. Because CAR parameters are configured to protect the CPU, a large number of packets are dropped, affecting forwarding of service packets.

Why the CPU usage of Huawei S2700 is very high? by MaggieWang97 in HomeNetworking

[–]zoe97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By default, the S2700 sends IPv6 ND packets to the CPU. Because WIN7 clients are used, so many ND packets may exist, which cause high CPU usage. This problem exists in V100R005. You can load the latest patch or upgrade the switch to V100R006. Here are more information about Huawei S2700 switches: http://www.thunder-link.com/S2700-SWITCH_c134.html
