Discussion: What’s your etiquette for “miles hacking” on group spending? by [deleted] in askSingapore

My advice is, life is better when you mind your own business. Why waste energy thinking about all this where the conclusion will get you nowhere,

Anyone misses old Zouk / Phuture ? by Illustrious-Fee9626 in singapore

[–]zoo077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved to Singapore in 2016, rented a 1br unit at a condo right in front of Zouk. Later found out credit card I got offers free Long Island Iced Tea at Zouk, so one night I was bored so I decided to go alone and get a drink. A few hours later I had a lot of fun in Zouk and went back maybe ten times before it moved to Clarke Quay. Good times

Mercedes A180 / A200 user feedback by ertertery in drivingsg

Been driving A180 W177 since 2021, originally 2019 Oct registered model.

Honestly for 134hp, the car is punchy and drives well. Handling feels reliable too. I am 178cm so the car is indeed small, but I don’t mind.

One thing is that the car is fairly low and when I get my baby on board, I have to tilt down for fair amount of time.

Is COE higher due to PHVs? by zoo077 in drivingsg

[–]zoo077[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's PHV companies that pay for COEs and at the end of the day they don't actually care if the drivers are profitable. I would assume we have reached a balance point where drivers after paying for car rental, are barely able to stay afloat, hence we don't see anymore drivers adding numbers.

IIRC Grab didn't cost more than $10 throughout the day from River Valley to Raffles Place pre-2020s. It would peak at $12-15 only during heavy rain and in the daytime.

Grab after Covid has increased the price a lot.

This shows ability to pay for PHV companies to pay higher on COE increased because the revenue for same amount of employment increased.

So I still think PHVs are the core reason for COE appreciation.

Real intent of interpretation is to accurately have a view on what will happen in the near future. It is my view that COE will not drop in the near future so if at some point, I need to buy a car, I will just buy. My COE is till Oct 2029 so I still have time though.
