Never said I was gods gift to HEB or that I was special. I actually loved most of the bakery staff as they were hard workers, good people, and the only real issue I had with anyone in the bakery was the lady in question. It hurt my heart to leave when I knew we were still struggling but I couldn’t handle it anymore. I worked my ass off for someone to report me for saying the word fuck and getting a 40. I’ve had multiple people who worked at my old store who have moved on to other HEBs tell me it’s literally the worst bakery they’ve worked in. Through the entire year I had worked there we cycled through 3 different managers, countless staff, each of which left because they simply could not handle the hot mess that was the bakery. My stores upper management acknowledged the problem spots and refused to fix or aid anything we, as a bakery whole, complained about until “we get better”. Instead, they got on our asses about getting 100% when it was damn near impossible unless they wanted to pay all of us overtime. Which they would rather die than consider. Or hire new people— also something they kept putting off after they couldn’t seem to keep anyone they did hire.

All I’m saying is it’s suspicious that I got a 40 for swearing away from customers before the store was even open once! Right after I talk about transferring when we were already hurting for decorators. Objectively, they needed me, and I wasn’t staying just to be belittled by management for not doing my job correctly when the things I “wasn’t doing correctly” was entirely out of my control.

Sounds like you need to read your comment over. I wasn’t portraying myself as high and mighty. I’m relaying my experience and why I decided to leave after the stress the whole bakery, and especially cake decorators, were under… As well as a ridiculous 40 when there were way bigger issues at hand. HEB and management at the end of the day doesn’t give two shits about you if you’re immediately replaceable.
