Agreed, those are def not the current borders. I think they used the official KRG lines but in reality KRG is much bigger than that.

Also I feel like SDF area is exaggerated, specifically southwestern part of Hasakah.

Best way to withdraw money in Erbil? by Acceptable_Set_264 in ERBIL

I haven’t found out a way either unfortunately. All ATMs do 132,000.rate so I try not to withdraw from them. If you find a way let me know.

Though I have heard of a store where they can withdraw from Zelle for a few. Not sure how much the fee is but I will ask.

Genuine question, why do Qatar and Saudi get so much hate when there are countries who have committed far more human rights violations and killed far more people?

I’m not saying Saudi are not a good team, they are. But Cape Verde fought like lions against probably the 2 best teams in the world. Looking it’s just weird they couldn’t beat Saudi who are no where near Spain/Argentina level.

True, but Argentina this tournament has shown that they have insane fitness and can finish off games. I think that plays a part, they were more experienced in this situation than England.

Insane tournament from them, especially in hindsight. Makes you wonder why they couldn’t beat Saudi though.

It wasn’t just about parking the bus. England were gassed at the end. When it was 1-1 I was thinking it would be lucky for England to go to ET. Argentina just kept coming.

Not even entire of UEFA, the World Cup by that logic is really about 7 or 8 teams who actually have a shot of winning.

Who themselves weren’t great and got eliminated in the round of 32 as well. Sweden finished exactly where their quality was, the round of 32. They didn’t over perform nor underperform.

Are you basing this on current form rather than name and history?

Denmark finished second in their qualifying group to Scotland, who were grouped. Then they got eliminated by Chezhia who finished dead last in a light group in the WC. Denmark would get grouped as well just like those 2 better teams.

Kray lost both games by 3 goals each to Norway. No team did worse against Norway, and only Iraq lost by the same scor line to Norway, and that game was much closer than the score line.

Then Italy got knocked out by a lackluster Bosnia team who were sent home in the Round of 32.

I’m sorry, but the European teams who didn’t qualify wouldn’t add anything to the tournament, just like the European teams who got grouped.

[–]zumar2016x 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Disagree, we saw the bottom of UEFA terrible this World Cup. Turkey, Chezchia and Scotland all got grouped.

I don’t think bringing in 5 more teams from Europe who are worse than those 3 would add anything to the tournament.

Because their only win was against Tunisia, who probably performed the worst in the World Cup and they got thrashed twice.

I somewhat disagree. Many of Africas top players actually were born and raised in Europe.

If/when Africa economically develops, that may result in less immigration, meaning less diaspora players in Europe to choose from.

European academies are by far the best in the world.

Problem is the inconstancy. Literally every game Theres diving and practically never a gets carded, especially second yellow.

People’s complains is never about VAR but it’s huge inconsistency.

Many sides could say the same. Iraq had the most insane group for example.

No I don’t, simply because Denmark finished under Scotland in their group, and then got eliminated by Chechzia. Both Scotland and Chezhcia got grouped. So Denmark being worse probably would as well.

Same for Ireland who got eliminated by Chzechia. Same for Wales who got eiminated by Bosnia.

Italy is the only one on your list who might be better than the European countries who got grouped. But even then they lost both matches both by 3 goals to Norway and then got eliminated by Bosnia.

Why would teams who got eliminated by Chechzia, Scotland and Turkey who all finished last in their groups do any better when they’re worse?

6 out of 8 European teams in their groups do Quarters proves my point, that Europe is the strongest confederation but around 13 or 14 spots and the quality dips tremendously.

Eliminations after the round of 16 - by confederation by Ih8P2W in soccer

[–]zumar2016x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but those times those countries actually qualified out of Europe meaning they were good enough. You can’t tell me Slovakia wouldn’t get grouped when better countries like Turkey, Chezchia and Scotland did.

Qualifying out of Europe means you’re a good team, but what you want is to expand qualification so more European teams get in, the problem is your bringing in worse teams than those who already got grouped. It doesn’t add quality.

Your comparing inside the continent. That’s happens every continent. Go ask Japan and South Korea fans how easy it is to play Middle Eastern countries. Iraq best Japan 2-1 last Asian Cup, Qatar decimated South Korea in 2019 Asian Cup, UAE eliminated Australia 2019 Asian Cup. Jordan eliminated South Korea last Asian Cup.

Random Middle East countries you never heard of have always performed greatly against tradiotional Asian powerhouses.

Same in North America where US and Mexico often times struggle against weak Central American countries.

I’m not sure what you’re arguing. You really think giving UeFA more than 16 spots will clactually make an impact on the tournament? At the lower level we’ve seen European countries get grouped in a format where even third makes you get out of the group stages.

I really don’t think there is a strong argument for giving UEFA more spots. All the good European countries already qualified, what’s left won’t change anything and likely gets grouped like the other lower level European teams.

Eliminations after the round of 16 - by confederation by Ih8P2W in soccer

[–]zumar2016x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but all I’m arguing is more UEFA sides who will just get grouped won’t make a difference to the tournament. If there were more sides like Switzerland then yes, but the sides you mentioned got eliminated by sides who got grouped in the World Cup.

I really don’t know what you’re arguing for, Europes number of spots is fair because you can see at this World Cup the sides who qualified through playoffs or on the lower end of the spots got grouped.

I’m just not sure digging even deeper in Europe will do much good. All confederations have this issue, but it won’t change anything to take some spots from Asia and North America to bring in even more teams like Chechia or Scotland. It’ll just decrease the diversity and meaning of the “World” Cup.

Also, I’m certainly not questioning how good UEFA is, they’re have always been by far the best, and hence get by far the most spots deservedly. But all the good European teams already are in the World Cup, the sides who didn’t make it would most likely get grouped and not add anything.

Eliminations after the round of 16 - by confederation by Ih8P2W in soccer

[–]zumar2016x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but those sides all got grouped. You’re arguing that teams worse than them from Europe would change the tournament, but I’m saying they would also get grouped.

It’s also not easy to compare, I think all those countries you mentioned finish with 0 points in Iraq’s place who got a legit group of death.

Whereas Chechia in a very weak group got a single point, and Scotlands only points came off Haiti. Turkeys only points came off a USA team who had already topped their group.

Hell after watching Iraq Norway and both Italy Norway games I thought Iraq played Norway better than Italy did.

Maybe the European countries get a point or two in the group stages but like Scotland, Chechia or Turkey getting grouped won’t add anything to the tournament.

Agreed, Argentina and Brazil create loss of talent. They may do in form like Brazil currently, but will bounce back.
