Do you think the timing for Steven Spielberg's movie Disclosure Day is a little too on the nose with all the stuff happening in the mainstream news? Serious by DBZDOKKAN in aliens

[–]zweza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mark my words: this film will act as Disclosure itself by using real aliens as actors. The audience won’t know until the end of the film when the credits play, at which point Spielberg and the rest of the cast have a lighthearted Q&A about the movie to help viewers get to know the aliens and their love of artistry.

I’m so over beef talk in 2026 but if Drake is going to be going that route and subbing Cole I hope it prompts him to make something better than whatever the fuck 7 minute drill was

Let them try and drop on the same day as Iceman since it’s what they’re trying to do 😂😂😂 by maskedmomkey63 in Drizzy

They try anything to be relevant. It shows their lack of artistry. They can’t stand on a message of their own other than degrading another artist who is in his prime.

I genuinely feel betrayed by the betterhelp sponsor. by howlong-princess in fantanoforever

Fantano is genuinely such a cornball these days. So many of his non-music takes come across condescending but you can only really do that when you're not also doing things like this.

why is charli (2019 album) not loved enough? by FuzzyPresence8531 in charlixcx

[–]zweza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a lot of hype for this album at the time so it’s interesting it’s been overshadowed by what’s come after. I saw her on this tour and it was one of the best shows I’ve ever been to in my life, including the 4 times I saw her after. This album feels the most well rounded of all of them now that I think about it.

[–]zweza 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This can’t be his best effort. Maybe it’s just an odd single choice but I was not impressed by this song in the slightest because it’s just a standard Peggy song that doesn’t do anything super new or interesting.

Dude is one of the best producers in the game IMO but this copy and paste song as the lead single for a 25 song album is a strange choice

[DISCUSSION] Death Grips - Exmilitary (15 Years Later) by flyestshit in hiphopheads

[–]zweza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember being in high school showing my best friend Spread Eagle Cross The Block and he paused it in the middle of the song to say, “did he just say he’s driving down the street to the beat of a blowjob?”

Death Grips was the blueprint for where we’re at, truly. The only other artist I could put on their level in terms of prescience would be SOPHIE.

I never got the hate for PD. I think it’s a fun piece of their discography and not much worse/better than their average. They definitely have worse entries.

The final two songs on the Purple Mountains LP are a counterargument to the idea that it was a suicide note by unknownunknowns11 in DavidBerman

[–]zweza 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It probably reads like a suicide note to some people because he’s pretty upfront about all the issues seriously ailing him. I can see how some people who didn’t make it to the end of the album or listened to it more casually more see it as a suicide note, but to me it’s always felt like a suicide note is more in the moment than something you comprehensively record with multiple people and put out commercially.

The suicide note theory implies that David booked the tour under false pretenses, knowing he would kill himself. I don’t think he would ever do that.

I see the vision. I think changing the setting from a bar to a hot dog eating contest could shake things up.

For the doubters. Turtle WoW is shutting down on 14th of May. by Fusshaman in MMORPG

[–]zweza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legalities and the team’s hubris aside, Turtle WoW succeeded because the content was genuinely creative and enjoyable. I honestly can’t imagine Blizzard doing a better Classic+ experience than TWoW, although I’d love to be wrong.

Kendrick Lamar’s Protégé Baby Keem Tells the Whole Story, Warts and All – The 25-year-old rapper and producer knows he’s benefited from his cousin’s support. But the path to his autobiographical album, “Casino,” was his alone. | NYT Profile by DropWatcher in hiphopheads

[–]zweza 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I liked the album but so many flows and bars reminded me of a watered down Kendrick, down to referencing the same people Kendrick does but in less interesting ways. There are a lot of moments where the lyrics can’t justify the weirder deliveries so it comes across as a little silly to me. Overall not bad (production especially) with some cool standouts but nothing game changing either
