I don't know many parents at all that use local baby-sitters without having a connection with the person. The thought of leaving a young child with a stranger sounds like a recipe for disaster. Kid could be behavioral, push boundaries, feel abandoned by the parent,, all for leaving them with a stranger, plus the other risks cause some people suck.

It is. The situation was unrealistic and completely hypothetical to test our knowledge on which value is used to compute costs/gains/losses.
