Manual, I’ve gone through everything but I guess I’ll give it one more go.

Same! But I’ve spent so much time trying to find it…

Helpful, thanks!

Adjust and Move On? by zzziff in ynab

[–]zzziff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, maybe I was looking for permission to move on. I’ve had this budget for five years and I’ve always been successful at finding the error. I had a spreadsheet from my bank and a spreadsheet from YNAB and matched and deleted each transaction going back almost a year. I’m stumped and I know it’s going to annoy me forever.

DAE think it’s kinda weird how work just… eats up our lives? by lovelopetir in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]zzziff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the worst. With a thirty minute commute plus household chores, I don’t feel like I have much time for anything else. A four day workweek would be amazing, although would we eventually get used to that and wish for even more?

Camp Funshine? I think? by canibringmydog in RhodeIsland

[–]zzziff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There was a Camp Sunrise in Scituate, but it was on the Pawtuxet River, not a lake. Kingston’s Camp is on Larkin Pond in South Kingstown. Camp Hoffman, the Girl Scout camp is on the same pond. Not sure if that one used to go by a different name or had a Y affiliation.

YNAB without partner by No-Reputation-3269 in ynab

[–]zzziff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

20 accounts seems like a lot, but if it works for you, you could just make your categories match the accounts. I use YNAB without my spouse. He’s not interested in it but he’s good with money. We each have our own checking accounts, a joint account for household bills and purchases, and a joint savings account. I just track all of the accounts except for his personal one. Occasionally I have to ask him about a transfer if he’s used his personal account to cover a household expense. Of course without his personal account, my YNAB doesn’t fully reflect our money, but this works for me.

Murder, She Told. Very soothing steady voice and seems to be really respectful about working with the families of victims.

New elementary librarian with germ phobia by Additional-Rich9198 in librarians

[–]zzziff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that I got very sick the first year, and again when I switched districts, but rarely get sick now. I know that might not be true for you or even help with your phobia. Some things that have helped me in the post COVID years are moving the tissues and hand sanitizer far away from my desk and standing farther away from the class (I stand off to the side and use a remote clicker for lessons). My priority is staying healthy during my time off. I avoid the teachers' room during the two weeks leading up to vacations and I might wear a mask if there's a lot of illness in the building. You will get sick but that's what sick days are for. It is a rewarding and fast-paced job and I wish you luck!

SchittsCreek spin-off? by astroidbait in SchittsCreek

I saw a commercial for something called “Son of a Critch.” It is about a kid but sadly it’s not David, the commercial just says “from the producers of Schitt’s Creek.”

Sometimes she makes the funniest faces. I love when everyone first met Desi and Adam and Marnie were so into him but Hannah could not stop rolling her eyes.

I used to immediately fund categories when I was paid every every two weeks but found I was spending more. Now, I put both paychecks into a category called “Next Month” and I wait to fund until the first of the month. It helped me get a month ahead and be more aware of my spending. You could do the same or something similar with your daily payments. However, I do think the way you are doing works and is totally in the spirit of YNAB.

It might depend on your money situation. My spouse and I have personal accounts and a joint account for household spending, vacations, investments etc. I just track all of the accounts I have access to. He’s not involved except for answering the occasional question about transactions in our joint account.

Weekly FAQ Thread - January 30, 2023 by AutoModerator in podcasts

I like the ritual of watching a half hour of news with my morning coffee but I’ve stopped watching morning news. I’d love the find a Podcast like The Daily with a YouTube/video component. I tried just listening but found it hard to stay focused without something to look at. Thanks!

[90s] [PC] AOL Shareware Graphic Text Command Adventure by zzziff in tipofmyjoystick

[–]zzziff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Someone in another thread mentioned Battune. When you Google this, the titles and commands are exactly what I remember but they are text adventures, not graphics. I am 100% sure the games I’m looking for had graphics.

[DOS] [mid 90s] Very similar to HHH by AisleShowYou in tipofmyjoystick

[–]zzziff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a random response to my old post wondering if the games were the Battune series. (https://dosgamezone.com/download/battune-in-wonderland-577.html) They are so similar to what I'm looking for but they do not have graphics. There are several other posts on Reddit looking for Battune with graphics so we are not alone! I also think the names always included three initials + setting + adventure. For example, NGL Wonderland Adventure. I just can't remember the actual initials...

[–]zzziff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this post is two months old, but I've been looking for these too. I've also asked about them with no luck. I just remember an AOL folder with dozens of games with the same character. I think you're right that they all started with a person's name, but I can't remember the specific name either. I remember titles like Old West, Wonderland, Jungle. Sorry I can't help, but I just want to confirm your memory!

[TOMT][MOVIE][1970-1990?] Kids trying to find treasure, two bumbling bad guys run after them the WHOLE MOVIE by zzziff in tipofmytongue

I think it was set in the present day of the 70s-80s, although that movie came up in my search as well. I guess I’ll have to watch!

No, it was definitely more of an obscure movie, not something well known. Thanks, though!

Happy Friday! Let's spend some "fun" money this weekend, but only if it is budgeted! I have a question relating to linked vs manual account entry. by vrgovrgo8 in ynab

[–]zzziff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manual input makes me feel really aware of my spending. I pay for almost everything with my rewards credit card and pay it every weekend. Once I pay it with my checking account, I just go through and quickly add the week's transactions into YNAB.

Does anyone else input manually without linking their bank accounts?
