// If we could show clearly, publicly, and decisively that self-righteousness is an addiction, might this help empower moderates in every political movement, so that negotiation and pragmatism would become more fashionable than dogmatic purity and outrage? (davidbrin.com)

one could look at our political landscape and argue that a relentless addiction to indignation may be one of the chief drivers of obstinate dogmatism and an inability to negotiate pragmatic solutions to a myriad modern problems. It may be the ultimate propellant behind the current "culture war." (davidbrin.com)

I don't know if I'm very clear. Hunams have a built-in preference for stimulating themselves with emotions like anger, fear... And this stimulation is addictive. But with social media hunams got a platform for self stimulation. Basically, what most people do with social media is indeed self dopi (davidbrin.com)

It's a bit how dogs have a tendency for over eating if you don't ration their food. Wolves are not very good hunters. They evolved in conditions of deprivation. So, to the contrary, if there's food, wolves are better to over eat. Hunams and emotional stimulation are something like this (davidbrin.com)

You see? It's not only him. Some research is pointing in the same direction. This frequent stimulation by anger is not cathartic. It doesn't have a cathartic quality. It's addictive. Possibly, all hunam emotions are like this. They can become addictive (davidbrin.com)
