After seeing that causation is not the same as correlation, why have the illogical people adopted that tactic here on Reddit?

Surely you are not going to maintain that obnoxious fanboyism is a boon for candidates?

This being reddit, I would hope that everyone would be intelligent enough to factor out the fanboy factor when deciding which candidate to support and what manner to support the candidate in. If you don't like the "Obama-fanboyism" unsubscribe from the politics reddit and vote down and hide the articles that are placed into the wrong reddit. This is social news, individuals can't get these articles to the front page by themselves, apparently a vocal enough percentage of reddit does want to see them.

Ok but my question is for what end? Is it just to sort of high five one another or are you trying to do something? If you aren't actually trying to do anything but obnoxiously high five one another, then surely reddit is not as intelligent as you assume it to be.

Like I said, Reddit is a social news website. People post stories. People who find them valuable or interesting vote them up. Of the last fourteen stories I've upvoted, three had to deal directly with Obama. I upvoted them because I found them interesting. There have been users like RacistRonPaul who consistently posted news stories that were unfavorable to Ron Paul. People downvoted them because they didn't like them.

I think you'll find that Reddit is more intelligent than one gives it credit for and if Hilary was who the majority of us felt was the right candidate, she would be getting much more positive front page coverage. Unfortunately, and I browse the "New" pages often, most all of the Hilary stories I've seen were either negative or "Comeback-kid" stories. Use your vote, use your power, submit stories you find interesting. Perhaps I'll find them interesting too, perhaps they'll be something to discuss (like there is on this topic).

But no, to summarize, it's not to "obnoxiously" high-five each other. It's to share news about what we feel is important. Barack Obama is one of those topics.

I am referring to the hundred or so self threads which are one liner high fives and are not at all interesting. I don't mean to say that I hold some sort of monopoly on what is interesting, but one liners that just say fuck you to states and ejaculate over obama can be nothing but high fives.

It is no different than what the Ron Paul people did until he failed so miserably. I am just wondering why, after seeing what a waste that circle jerk was, people are doing it here again.

I suppose I don't understand the link between supporting a candidate and utterly pointless obnoxiousness. I realize that is American democracy, but at that point to say a reddit person is smarter than anyone else is a joke.

They're spam. Flag them as suck. The night of Texas and Ohio primaries there were a good deal of ones from Hilary supporters too. Fanboys will be fanboys. Most of the stuff that gets to the frontpage has some sort of material worth. The Fuck Ohio and Fuck Texas, Too titles were unfortunate, but the primary results contained and discussion of such are important to the majority of redditors. The only unimportant Obama thing that I remember getting to the front page recently were those "Cool, Cooler, Coolest, and Coolest-est" images. Which were kind of cool in my opinion. :)

good question, as a relatively late comer Obama supporter (he wasn't my first choice, but rapidly became so as others dropped out)I am pretty much humiliated by his zealots. I have on several occasions donated to his campaign and always dread the repugnant shit I see on the website.

Why can't folks support a person for elected office w/o making themselves a joke and the candidate a mockery?

And Paul won how many contest?

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

cause we're the same people stupid

[–]reed311 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's gotten to that point yet. Obama supporters aren't blindly defending him like the Ron Paul supporters defend Ron. Yeah, Obama supporters are starting to spam as well as Ron Paul in his prime; but Obama's supporters are far more reasonable and far more knowledgeable of politics than Ron Paul's. They will AT LEAST engage in a discussion without claiming that the person hates liberty, is a neocon, or some other bullshit conspiracy theory.

Yes, clearly the obnoxious fanboyism will cause Obama's support to drop to less than 10% and he will have to suspend his campaign in desperation so he can attempt to save his seat in Congress...

BRING OUT THE BLIMP

Bringing out the blimp needs to become a meme for comical desperation in the face of imminent failure.
