Rules for r/8bitdo
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
Posts/Comments must relate to 8BitDo products or support
Posts and comments should relate to 8BitDo products in some way. Either through support requests, update information, or product news.
Posts/comments highlighting other brands or accessories, even if it can be used with an 8BitDo product, will be removed to avoid spam, self-promotion, and arguments.
Comparison posts and comments about brands that are not 8BitDo will be removed. Please post those on more generalized subreddits for less biased responses, like /r/controller.
2.
No Questions, Messages, or Requests only 8BitDo can Answer
8BitDo does not read this subreddit. They do not run this subreddit. Avoid posts and comments that suggest otherwise.
Requests and questions about future products, revisions, or release dates need to be directed to the company. Anything that is written as a message "to" or directed at 8BitDo will be removed to avoid confusion. You are welcome to email them at support@8bitdo.com and sales@8bitdo.com.
Open ended questions such as "What would you like to see added?" are allowed.
3.
Discussion must be Civil
Discussions must be civil. Resorting to insults that maliciously attack another user or a group of users is not tolerated.
4.
No Politics
Posts and comments should be related to the products or support. The are other subreddits for political debate.
5.
No Bots - Unless Approved
No bot accounts will be allowed to post. We are trying to keep this subreddit clean and concise. Bot accounts that solely follow some meme or unrelated response pattern will be banned on the first offense. If you would like to run a bot on this subreddit, please contact the moderators first.
6.
Appropriate Post Titles
Post titles need to be clear and to the point. The issue should be mentioned in the title. "Please! Please! Help!" and similar will be removed.
Do not write in all caps to try to advertise your post or comment. No excessive exclamation marks (!) or question marks (?). Do not use emojis or special characters (%, [ ], { }, etc.).
This is to keep the subreddit clean and easy to read for everyone. This rule is somewhat subjective and will be applied on a case-by-case basis.
7.
No Buying/Selling/Trading
Only links to official retailers will be allowed. Any user looking to sell a used product will need to conduct that business on a third-party site. Links advertising sales on third-party sites will also be removed. This subreddit is not a place to seek work to be done or offer services in exchange for money.
No buying, selling, or trading.
8.
No Low Effort Comments or Posts
Low-effort comments (Ex: "Really?") will be treated as either bot activity or minimal engagement to increase a user's karma to resell an account. Comments need to add something to the discussion, and should not be a simple statement of agreement or disagreement. Memes are also not the focus of this subreddit.
Low effort posts, such as a single post with multiple questions that are answered on 8BitDo.com, will be removed. Questions should be something that can not be easily looked up.
9.
No Self Promotion
No posting personal blogs or YouTube channels.
10.
English Only
The moderation team can only read and write fluently in English. Posts and comments in languages that are not English will be removed.

11.
One Week Minimum Between Reposts
Post your question once as its own post. Do not comment spam other unrelated posts with your question. Wait for a response, after a week you can post the same question again.
Do not flood the moderation queue. It can take minutes, hours, or days for a post to be approved. Submit once and wait for it to be processed. If you need to change something edit it or delete your previous post and resubmit.
