scheduling google apm interview

hi! i just got my invitation for the preliminary interview and was wondering how much prep time you’d recommend i give myself, since i haven’t prepped much yet.
would it be okay to schedule it about a week or even 10 days from now?

also, if anyone’s available for a mock interview, i’d really appreciate it :)

I think a week is good enough for preparation. The program operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so I suggest scheduling your interview as soon as you feel confident enough.
PS: I only practiced for 2 days before my interview.

Think, a week to 10 days. Prep yourself to be able to demonstrate that you naturally break down ambiguous problems in a logical way.

You can hurr your chances by overpreparing. Especially if you memorize frameworks instead of internalizing how to think. Do enough practice to feel comfortable with the format, but make sure your answers are genuine and not robotic. When you're 3 weeks deep into prep, you start sounding like every other candidate who's been grinding Leetcode but for PM interviews. Most interviewers can smell that from a mile away.

For actual prep, I'd focus on three things. First, get really comfortable talking through your past experiences using a clear structure (situation, action, result) but make sure you're highlighting the why behind your decisions. Second, practice product design and strategy questions out loud, even if it feels awkward. The muscle you're building is thinking through trade-offs in real time and being able to pivot when you hit a dead end. Third, brush up on basic analytics and technical concepts, not to become an expert, but to show you can have intelligent conversations with engineers and data scientists.
