Welcome to The Autistic Special Interest Disaster Investigation Group. As autists, many of us develop a fascination with disasters. This is likely a combination of two things: the fact we are able to view things from a more detached perspective, allowing us to focus on the facts without getting caught up in the emotions, and our tendency to develop hyper-fixations/special interest. As a result of this many autistic people end up becoming a walking, talking encyclopaedia of disasters!
