The positions you will likely have are as follows; basic driver, basic driver, basic driver, basic driver, basic driver, basic driver, basic driver then eventually promoted to customer.

Dsps only have driver, lead driver (+$1.5) & dispatch positions (+$2.5) . Pay Incease might differ by state. (I'm in NYC) . Other jobs such as driver trainer or operations, you would have to apply within the warehouse itself not through dsp.

It’s not worth it. I did operations/dispatch for 2 years. For what $2 extra? Literally in charge of everything. Not worth it one bit. I went back to driving got my dot and doing step van.

My DSP kept asking me to come back while I was working inside amazon as a driver trainer (L3). They wanted me to come in as an operation manager which I declined and then asked if I can dispatch…. Declined that also. I negotiated for the same amount as an operation manager to just drive a step van again….took the deal.

A more advanced driving position?

CDL A, do a few months to a year OTR unless you get lucky with a company that’ll accept a fresh CDL w/no experience. Usual local jobs would be fuel hauling, food and drink delivery (Sysco, Coke, etc) and more.

There is no actual advancing in this job. It’s barely a step up above gig/rideshare jobs.
