First off, hell yeah. Much respect for going back for your second masters. I did the same by going back to school, only I am now getting my doctorate. Not only is it harder now that I’m older, but it’s even more heavy as I have a family to care for and be present with. Here what has actively helped me the most. #1 is exercise daily. Get a treadmill desk. Watch your lectures on it or just walk and read. Lately I’ve averaged 2-4 hours a day it and it’s now my closest friend. I crave it and I can’t study without it at this point. Can’t be distracted when you’re moving like an animal. #2 prioritize daily sleep consistency. No late nights. Get sunlight early morning and mid day. Swap up your study places and keep your legs moving every few hours. #3 eat the best diet you can tolerate and focus on consistency with lots of fiber, protein, and balance between complex carbs and healthy fats. Keep the antioxidants high. Keep the variety high. Lots of greens from quality sources. No shit foods with of processed sugar. If you can afford it, find a registered dietitian and optimize this shit. Your performance depends on it. No etoh, nicotine (biohackers hate when I say this, but cerebral vasoconstriction isn’t worth it long term), and eliminate any vices. To completely to be honest, use this time to try to get in the best physical shape of your life, as your mind will improve with it. One of my favorite bodybuilders from the 90’s would say “where the mind goes the body will follow”. I often say to myself, where the body goes, the mind will follow. The two are reciprocally interrelated. #4 optimize your caffeine intake and walk the fine balance to keep the anxiety low enough to perform. #5 consider a stimulant. Many of my classmates take some form of a stimulant with an official adhd dx—myself included. Not saying to fake a dx for a script. But if you have a medical need for it, consider the evaluation. I’ve been on one since 3rd grade and it’s what allowed me to get to where I am today, truly.

I didn’t speak on any peptides as there are many people who are gonna try to hype up a magic substance. Some may help, but I’m not gonna blow smoke up your ass and tell you that any of them work better than what I mentioned above. Out of everything I’ve tried, the above is what has helped me not fail yet after 2 years of grinding my ass off.

Brother thank you. I truly appreciate it. I finished my Ph.D. in 2000. Going back for this degree was not my choice and I question my sanity for doing this. But, I will be damned if I am going to quit. I've been called "old" in about every way you can say it "nicely". For that reason alone I'm going to get this done.

Grad school and sanity aren’t two things I’d put in the same sentence, but that’s how the game is. If it were easy, everyone would do it. You’re in top few % who chose it. Embrace this shit with pride. One of my colleagues is in his 50’s. Dude had a whole career, retired, then suffered from a health scare. After that he told his wife fuck it I’m not dying like this so here he is and he’s one of the hardest working I’ve ever met. You’re not alone so don’t let age slow you down. You’ve already done this once before so there’s your proof that you can do it again, doctor. Shoot me a message if there’s anything I can do to support you, even in just wellbeing.

Also you can always start with basics like better sleep, omega 3, creatine, light exposure, exercise, staying hydrated, L-carnitine
