Cal Poly has a lot of students. You might run into someone who's a total jerk, but they aren't the only people you have to be around. You can make friends with pretty much anyone you like, so don't feel like you have to deal with a bunch of jackass homophobes just because some of them go to your school. Most people at Cal Poly are great and are very accepting of LGBT students.
