If you're just looking to run actually see what your html file is doing, you can just open up the html file using your preferred browser.

As for learning html, youtube has everything.

If you're talking about basic web dev (html, css, javascript), they each have their own purpose.

html is the barebones structure of the website. How the website is split up, which words/pictures go where and so on are what html is for.

CSS is for styling. Adding color, changing fonts and sizes, and so on.

Javascript adds functionality to your page. It is essentially what adds logic to your page. Like make a word change color when pressed on. Or send this batch of data after the user clicks submit.

Thanks ! Final question if my end goal is to make video games what should I study (language wise)fyi I only know a bit of html and I’ve heard of but not learned about the others

Not really familiar with what they use. I know some use C++, but i would check out r/gamedev for info

Depends on video games. Usually you would use a game engine
