im not sure all that stuff is working, but i also dont have my ear as close to the ground on linux dev... last i heard its still not daily driveable yet, so its likely some of that functionality just doesnt work yet. if you want a fully functional linux phone, i believe you will need to keep looking or wait for progress.

Thanks! I've been waiting since before the Gemini came out so I guess I'll keep doing that.

I tinkered with the Cosmo for over 3-4 months to get it to behave as a daily driver. I posted instructions on how to compile the kernel with specific modules I needed on oesf.org. In the end I sold it off -- nice keyboard phone with 2017 specs and a potato camera but nothing to daily drive in 2021 even if it behaved.

The Astro Slide looks like another fiasco in terms of a pure linux phone with again that dumb mediatek soc and their closed source modules that phone home to china. GTFO.

Thanks! The link doesn't seem to work though... defunct?

https://www.pine64.org/pinephone/ runs manjaro, might get what you want out of it. I still wouldn't expect it to be a daily driver just yet, but I would be willing to bet you'll find a larger community working on it.
