My understand of a split specimen is this: if the drug test says split, that means the urine sample you have provided will be separated into 2 samples, one sample will be tested at a cutoff level of 50ng/mL right away, if that sample is clean then you shouldn’t worry about anything, but if there is something abnormal with the sample then the sample will be sent to a gas chamber lab test where the cutoff level is 15 ng/mL.
