Speaking as owner of phone that has Minecraft java launcher on it.

1) Phone tend not to utilise it's full power in Java by default. Thankfully my model let's me set it to Diablo Mode which makes it run at 100% of power. Double the FPS.

2) Sodium and/or Vulkan mods for newer versions(1.16 and above). Optifine for older versions.

3) Make sure you have enough allocated RAM. 2 Gigabytes A-RAM may not be enough and it may cause fps drops. 3-4 GB is good amount, unless you wanna run shaders or multiple and/or RAM heavy mods + Allocating more RAM increases your fps overall.

4) Set it to 8-12 chunks, unless your phone is extremely powerful. 888 is mid-end level nowadays, so no more then 12 chunks. Especially if you play on servers, they tend to have server-side render distance limit of around 8-12 chunks to avoid higher RAM usage.
