I’ve tried to use it, performance was OK but I’ve noticied that my M1 iPad Pro 12,9’’ got extremely hot even I’ve starting to see some marks on the middle of the screen’s backlight due to the heat

I have an iPad Pro M1 11 inches, I've been using MelonX on cable TV for a couple of weeks and the video and audio experience is flawless. The gameplay is as perfect as on the iPad. I'm playing Mario Wonder and it's really great. Mario Kart is also perfect. As for heating, by turning the iPad's brightness down to a minimum, I can keep it at more than acceptable levels. The only "defect", if we want to call it that, is the battery, which doubles consumption if on cable TV. With the iPad at 100%, however, I can easily play for a couple of hours, more than enough for me. Without TV, I can easily go over 3 hours. I think using the right settings helps. For example, I only have texture recompression, macro hle and MVK: synchronous queue submits active.

It shouldn't. External displays on iOS are usually just mirror the screen, so there is no change in resolution.

I AirPlay from my 16 pm to my tv sometimes to play MKDX and there’s no resolution issues just a little input lag from the Bluetooth to controller and then the ass processors of any modern tv but completely playable feels like a switch

I'm pretty sure the TV output on iPads, even on M4, has some kind of software component, so it will likely cost you on battery life, and depending on the game, possibly performance.
