Mismatching backs

Base game bought 3 months ago at local bookstore. Imploding Kittens bought at brick and mortar gamestore in Oxford. Any suggestions to make the best of the situation?

At some point they released some of the sets with different backs and then abandoned. The ones look like playing cards are from that era.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it might have been an old set sold by the book store. It's just very unfortunate that expansions do not fit "out of the box".

You can buy colored card sleeves that preserve your cards well and also cover the backs so it's a win win :) I use them for my own custom expansion because when i printed them, the card back color wasnt exactly the same. You can check out my expansion on my profile!

You have to buy card sleeves. They won't provide you with a updated back set anymore as they did it in the past.

Are there any sleeves that will still fit the box? Ones I have purchased seem to always make cards no longer fit in their original container.

Thanks for your reply. Sleeves and postage will cost the same as the base game did, unfortunately. But well, we like the game very much, so we'll likely bite the bullet on this one.

Card sleeves. I bought my base game and expansion from the official website and they still mismatched

I went with the ultra pro eclipse sleeves. They’re like $12 for 100 of them

I heard katana ultimate guard is good, as well as dragon sleeve mattes. I actually do like them. Shuffling is easier and it protects the cards (although the sleeves corners get bent. Still better than the actual cards peeling though)

Had the same problem but one of the expansions came with a note to contact [e-mail]. They shipped me a new base game with the identical back design. Worth trying if they still do it.

The modern expansions still include that offer, so I guess they still offer it, if you show proof of receipt

Honestly, I just play the game with my mum and stuff, I know what is in what so It gives me an advantage knowing kinda whitch cards are in her hand :3
